Description of objectPoco Galles is a welcoming, spacious house set alongside the national park area of the Majella. The house is set in a very peaceful hamlet close to Palombaro.Peace and relaxation can be enjoyed whilst walking through the many foot paths of the Majella, enjoying lunch at the several picnic areas. The ancient town of Lanciano, which is older than rome, can be reached in 15 mins. Long sandy beaches and pebble coast can be reached in 40/30 mins respectively. There are two water parks, the closest being a 50 mins drive. There are markets most days in towns close to the house. Beautiful restaurants and agriturismos in abundance can all be reached in a short car trip. The house is ideal for families and is well equipped with 3 bedrooms, room- 1 super king size bed with a double sofa bed, room- 2 super king size bed, room 3- bunk beds, and living room has double bed settee. Pescara is just 50 Km from the house, approx 45 mins driving. Rome Ciampino airport, which can reached by Easyjet or Ryanair from several British Airports, is just over 2 1/2 hours away from the house, but is a pleasant drive with stunning views, while driving over the Apenine mountains. Ryanair also fly to Ancona, just over 2 1/2 hrs to the house, along the coastal motorway. You\'ll find ancient beechwood forests inhabited by wolves, wild boar and bears. Century-old footpaths, still used by colourfully-attired shepherds and their flocks, ominous castles which now guard nothing but beautiful scenery. catching a glimps of a soaring royal eagle or a lone family of mountain goats. Abruzzo is a mountainous region, with its eastern border marked by vast white sandy beaches, and pebbled coves stretching along the Adriatic coast, with breakwaters in the sea, allowing safe bathing for children, and a haven for small sea wildlife, ideal for snorkelling. Abruzzo is steeped in history, with ancient buildings allowing you to visit a Cathedral built on a bridge or the Abbey overlooking the cliffs along the Adriatic. Why not take a boat trip on lake Bomba, or even wake board behind it. In spring you can snowboard in the mountains, then in the afternoon, paddle in the warm azure blue sea of the Adriatic. There is the stunning grotte de cavalone, a 2km long cave, only accessible via a gondola lift, high into the mountain, a castle on a dormant volcano at Roccascalegna, just to name a few of the attractions in the area. Through the whole of August to the middle of September there are festivals all over the region, with something for everyone, every evening. However the festival season in Abruzzo starts in May. Lanciano / Palombaro area Palombaro is an ancient town built on top of a hill, it hosts festivals during the month of August as do most villages and towns in the area. Palombaro is a small friendly town, that hosts a small market weekly, it comprises of a few local pubs, hotel that has an outdoor pool which is open to the public for a small charge. Macerlleria (butchers), a supermarket, bank with cash point.
