Rent-Holiday-Homes is a website, that matches landlords and lodgers of holiday houses and holiday apartments. Landlords of holiday homes can be private individuals or companies. The same is valid for potential tenants. Images can be attached to all adverts, to describe the object or the surroundings (e.g. photos or ground plans).

2. Do I have to pay for the service of Rent-Holiday-Homes?

Rent-Holiday-Homes is totally free of costs for all: landlords as well as tenants. If landlords add a link to their own personal website in their advert, they are required to place a link back from their own homepage to Rent-Holiday-Homes.
Please note: We never (!) request any payment from our users. In case someone tries to contact you by phone or email and asks in our name to pay for any of our services, this is fraud.

3. How do I find a holiday house or holiday home?

Pls. go to the page "Rent holiday house" and choose your target country. Click on "search". The holiday homes in that specific country will be displayed.

4. How can I offer my own house or apartment for rent?

To offer holiday homes on Rent-Holiday-Homes is similar to the process of advertising them in a newspaper. To offer objects, you first need to register for free. It goes without saying, that your data will never be given to third parties. If you are already registered, you can login at the page LOGIN and create new adverts for objects. Of course you can also delete them later on, if you wish. The booking calendar allows you to display the available or booked periods for the object to potential tenants.

5. How can I change my adverts?

If you would like to change your advert, you should LOGIN first. There pls. click on "change objects". If you click on delete object the chosen object will be deleted from the database.

6. How can I change my personal data?

If you wish your personal data and contact data, you should LOGIN first. Then click on the link "change personal data".

7. How can I unsubscribe the newsletter?

Underneath every newsletter email we send you will find a corresponding link. Pls. click on this to unsubscribe the newsletter. Pls. do not send us emails, requesting to unsubscribe you.

8. How can I use the system of Rent-Holiday-Homes also on my own website?

Rent-Holiday-Homes offers the feature to use the system of Rent-Holiday-Homes also on your own website, to present your holiday homes including the booking calendar also on your website. This can especially interesting for agents and commercial providers. If you are interested in this feature, pls. write us a short Email to

9. What am I supposed when I receive a request from a possible tenant?

Please reply to requests within 14 days. Please note: it is very important to click the contact link which is provided in the email. By clicking the contact link you are automatically forwarded to the request of the possible tenant. You can reply either by using the contact form or forwarding all information to your email address. If you do not reply a request within seven days our system will send you a reminder that is including the contact link. In case you have not clicked the contact link within the following seven days, your account will be temporarily disabled and your objects will not be shown. Therefore clicking the contact link is the automatic proof for our system that your advert is still active. We thank you for your understanding for this measure. Unfortunately, some users repetitively have not replied to requests, because their adverts were inactive but still displayed on our website.

10. How can I activate my inactive account?

Either just click on the contact link or LOGIN on our homepage. After that, you have to verify your email address again.

11. How can I enable Java Script in my browser?

For the optimal display and use of, your Java Script needs to be enabled. This can easily be done within a few seconds. Please follow the instructions below according to your type of browser:

12. I'm having problems with changing or deleting seasonal prices.

14. How can I upload/delete/change order of pictures?

In order to upload pictures, please do the following:
- log in on our website
- click Upload pictures (icon 5) .
- click the 'Browse' button in the 'Add New Picture' box
- choose the picture you want to upload
- click on 'Add Picture' in the 'Add New Picture' box
- after a couple of seconds, your pictures will be displayed.

To delete pictures, please log in on your account and click 'Upload Pictures'. You are then directed to a page where you can see all of your current pictures. Next to the pictures, on the right side, you find icons to delete and change the order of your pictures .

15. Unreliable Owners/Fraud does not represent the advertised objects, but provides the possibility for landlords and agencies to promote their property. Please note that our team is constantly trying to make sure that only proper adverts are displayed on our portal. However, takes no responsibility for the existence, the features, the characteristics or the availability of objects.

Unfortunately, there are very rare cases of fraud on portals like where objects are uploaded that do not exist. In those cases, the "property owners" do not reply emails or phone calls after they have received payment for deposit, and/or people discover that the object does not exist when they are already at the "location".

Therefore we recommend to do some research if the owner and his/her object exist, before you make any kind of payment. The follwing aspects might help you with this:

- Payments should not be proceeded via Western Union, but on a legal bank account. Caution: Beware of making payments if the account is based in a country that strongly differs from the location of the object. This also applies for payments to local collective bank accounts, like e.g. Banco do Brasil (Bank of Brazil) in Frankfurt. This does not correspond to a local bank account in Frankfurt, even if the BIC code seems to be German. Additionally, be careful if the name of the account holder is not the owner's name.
- Does the object have a proper address? Is it possible to find it on Google Maps/Google Earth?
- Does the owner have a telephone number (best case: landline) where you can reach him?
- Is the object given an adequate price?
- How much is the deposit that is requested by the landlord? Is he insisting for various reasons that this payment should be done right away?
- Does the object have a homepage?

16. Why is my new advert not uploaded right away?

All new adverts are reviewed and approved by the support team. Unfortunately there are very few cases of fraud on portals like ours, and they are a huge damage for us. By checking new adverts, we can minimize scam and strengthen our users' confidence in our service.

You can check the status of your new object after logging in on Additionally, you are receiving a notification with a link to your advert after it has been activated.

17. How long does it take until my new advert is uploaded?

Our support tries to activate your new advert as soon as possible. Generally speaking, it should not take more than 5 workdays to activate your advert but depending on our workload it can take up to 25 workdays. After the activation, you are receiving a notification that your object is uploaded. You can check the status of your new advert by logging in on

18. Suspicious Requests

Unfortunately, there are some scammers who present themselves as potential ‘renters.’ has implemented some mechanisms to identify those fraud requests, but for those we can not catch, please find some information here:

- Scam requests can come from all over the world, but most of them come from third world countries like e.g. Nigeria
- Any types of checks can be forged, so please always verify checks with your bank and wait for funds to clear
- For some reason, the owner wants to send an amount of money that is significantly higher than what they are supposed to pay. Then they will ask you to send that money back right away. After you have received that money on your account and transferred some money back, the check bounces.
- Are requests written in an exaggeratedly polite manner, bad English, caps, does the email reference God, UK, Cashiers Check, Doctor, Nigeria, Reverend, etc.?

19. How can I correct broken chars in my advert?

In some cases, certain chars like for example apostrophes ' or acute/circumflex accents like '/^ are not displayed correctly (////,%Ã% etc.). This usuallly happens if you have copied your advert texts from a word processor like Microsoft Word. You can easily resolve this issue like this :

- Log in, select in the corresponding language (marked by the different flags), and click "Change".
- Delete the broken chars and enter them again.
- Save your changes.

You can also just copy your entire texts into a normal text editor and paste them into the corresponding description fields.
