Description of objectOurs is a historical house surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and forests and has a beautiful garden as well as a breathtaking view over the Val d\\\\\\\'Orcia.
It is a special house dating back to 1290, where the monks of the nearby Benedictine Abbey of St Antimo lived and produced medicines and treatments.
The house has a beautiful living area with fireplace, a kitchen with dining area, three bright and airy double bedrooms and a single, two bathrooms with shower and an extra sitting room with sofa and armchair.
Guests are also provided with a cot and high chair for babies.
The property is an ideal base for holidays to discover Montalcino and its wines, but also the Val d\\\\\\\'Orcia and Monte Amiata, as well as various sites of cultural and spiritual interest. The house and garden are very welcoming and it will not be unusual to find yourself spending entire days in the shade of the many fruit trees enjoying the cool breezes that always cheer up even the hottest of summer days
And if you feel particularly lazy or in the mood for being pampered, at 30 metres from the house, we can serve you scrumptious home made meals at Agriturismo La Croce. Simple, yet tasty. fresch and genuine food from the Maremman tradition. Allow mamma Paola and Papà Alberto pamper you and draw you into their food and wine world.
Paola is a super active 70 year old lady whose hands are always cooking something. Alberto takes care of the wine cellar with his son Massimo, who makes their wines. The estate produces wonderful Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino as well as table wine, olive oil and grappa.
Location of objectAt 20 km we have the Roman Baths of Bagno Vignoni, at 40 km the hot springs of San Filippo, 44 km Siena, 35 km the summit of Monte Amiata and 70 km the beautiful sea of Castiglione della Pescaia.
Town: Italy, Montalcino, MontalcinoThe road leading up to Montalcino winds through the vineyards and open fields of the producers of one of Italy\'s most exquisite (and expensive) wines, the preeminent Brunello di Montalcino. In mid September the deep purple Sangiovese Grosso grapes, almost ready to harvest, hang heavy on the vines. The rolling hills of southern Tuscany spread before you and the light is just as so many writers have described it - golden and warming, bathing everything in its glow. As you round each turn you can see in the distance the fortezza standing tall on the southern edge of the town.
