Description of objectThis lovely holiday home \"ANTICO BORGO\", in Versilia is located at 2 km from Seravezza, in the village of Pozzi. Of ancient origins this hamlet is surrounded by age-old olive groves. This ancient farmhouse, originally an 18th century summer retreat for nuns from Lucca, has recently been restored by the owners who live in a flat of the property. The ancient property includes several holiday flats. The apartment \"Antiche Travi\" offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere typical of old houses, thanks to nice pieces of forniture, to the old beams,to terracotta and wood floors. Every detail has been thought by the hosts, who have a passion for antiques and objects of the past. The apartment of 90sqm (4pp) is a duplex: on the first floor, a large built-in kitchen (fully equipped with everything you need), with a stone sink and a stone top covering the working surface and a bright dining area, opens onto the living-room with an important fireplace and a beautiful staircase made of an old marble, extracted from the Apuan Alps. A study area is part of the same room. The staircase leads to the upper floor, where there is a very wide double bedroom with two windows overlooking the ancient olive groves (where you can add a cot) and a twin bedded room. The elegant and spacious bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath and a large walk-in shower. A second floor bathroom with shower is available for the guest. A useful utility room complete the comfort of the flat \"Antiche Travi\", which, with that \'typical atmoshere” of the past, will offer you a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Location of objectLocation of the objectThe farmhouse is located in the middle of huge ancient olive groves. The place is so very quiet and secluded, even though shops and supermarkets are just minutes away. The view from the farmhouse is enchanting: the Apuan Alps, the hills and the garden / grove, surrounding the main house and the dependance at 360 \'. Town: Italy, Versilia, Pozzi di SeravezzaTown: Pozzi di Seravezza, Versilia, Tuscany, Italy.The property, set amomg olive groves, lies between several small towns and villages: Pietrasanta with its famous historical centre, Forte dei Marmi famous for its beaches and for exclusive shopping, Seravezza at the foot of the Apuan Alps (from Monte Altissimo was extracted the famous marble statuario), mountains famous for some astonishing caves and for trekking trails. The Apuan Alps form the backdrop of this place in the plains, sorrounded by hills, secluded and quiet. Quiet places, but full of restaurants and shops, reachable on foot. In the area there are many tennis courts, riding stables, a golf course and a swimming pool. The Versiliana, a famous pinewood near the sea, is the right place for people who love jogging. The sandy beach and its well known bathing estalishments are only 4 km far from the farmhouse. In the area there is also a free beach. A few minutes from the beaches of Versilia, just a few kilometers from the Apuan Alps, but also not far from towns/cities like Lucca and Pisa. Florence is 50 minutes far, Siena 1 hour and a half far from Antico Borgo. Le Cinque Terre are reachable by train in a short time. The Apuan Alps form the backdrop to this place in the plains, sorrounded by hills, secluded and quiet, yet close to every sort of shops, which can be reached on foot from \"Antico Borgo\". Many "sagre", or festivals dedicated around a particular local product, start in early summer and continue on through the fall as local specialties (truffles, wine, olive oil, marroni chestnuts) come into season. In Versilia you will find a lot of sagre organised by the various "contrade" which give life to the Palio dei Micci (1st Sunday of May). They offer typical dishes (tordelli and panzanelle) in the evenings of July, August and mid September. If you are coming to Tuscany during other periods of the year, don't worry as there is always something to see or do (or eat!) then as well. For specific events, it is best to contact the local tourism office of the locality you will be visiting. Tuscany Apartments Staying at an apartment during your stay in Tuscany gives you the opportunity to have a bit more freedom in terms of your daily schedule and movements than a hotel usually affords. You can come and go when you need to, and if you feel like it, save a bit of money by purchasing some local, fresh products and cooking yourself if you are tired from a whole day out and want to relax at "home". An apartment vacation rental also allows you to save if you will be staying in one place for more than a few days (the cost per day is usually lower than hotels), and if you stay in an apartment in the countryside, you could use that as a base from which you can visit most of Tuscany without having to change hotels every day. Keep in mind that many apartments are located within a larger farmhouse or villa that has been divided up.
