Description of objectLocated at the edge of Chianti, Villa Saladini is a typical Tuscan Villa. Surrounded by the gentle Chianti hills, the 6ha property, owned and managed by the Morici family for over 200 years, is located less than 1 km from the main square of Impruneta and only 12 km from the center of Florence. The bus to Florence stops just in front of entrance gate.Staying at Villa Saladini is like a blast from the past: it is a place where time has stopped. From the entrance to the small chapel, everything has remained as it was 200 years ago, but at the same time there are modern facilities such as free Wi-Fi also in the garden. Due to its location (300 meters above sea level), the property has a very comfortable climate, cool even in the hottest summers, and it has a spacious view on olive groves and surrounding hills. We like to offer our guests a comfortable and relaxing holiday as well as full access to the large sunny lawn with panoramic views, to the shady and fresh garden with pines and orchads and to the whole park and olive groves. The property is surrounded by woods and has ample parking space. Perla and marco, the owners, will be happy to inform you about hikes, cultural excursions, monthly events and weekly markets. On request, we will go shopping for you so that everything is there upon your arrival. Apartment Saladino is a comfortable apartment of 70 sqm. consisting of : - Living room with sofa bed and kitchen, - Room with king double bed, - Bathroom with shower. The furniture is antique, ceiling beams, old terracotta floors and walls thicker than 50 cm as is usual in this kind of buildings. This ensures warm winters and cool summer even without air conditioning. The apartment is located on the ground floor of the Villa with direct access from the garden. The entrance is next to the old well, just in front the centuries-old cedar which leads to a large sunbathing lawn. Opposite the entrance you will find table and chairs for outdoor dining and lounge chairs for relaxing in the shade of trees or sunbathing on the lawn. Upon request we will prepare you an excellent typical Tuscan dinner accompanied by a bottle of good Chianti. The property is located just 6 km from the exit “Firenze – Impruneta” (formerly “Firenze – Certosa”) of the A1 highway and from the beginning of the road which connects Florence to Siena. From here you can then easily reach all areas of cultural interest and the most beautiful rural areas of Tuscany, such as: • Siena: 60 km (1h) • Pisa: 100 km (1h 30 min) • Lucca: 90 km (1h) • Pistoia: 50 km (45 min) • Arezzo: 80 km (1h) And also: San Casciano Val di Pesa (12 km), Greve in Chianti (15 km), Certaldo (36 km), Colle Val d’Elsa (40 km), San Giminiano (45 km) and the renowned spa town of Montecatini Terme (60km). Once in town, past the main square and continue for about 1 km. The entrance gate is situated on the main street at the corner with Via delle Terre Bianche.Town: Italy, Florentine Chianti, ImprunetaThe town of Impruneta is located a few kilometers from Florence in the hearth of Tuscany. Famous for its terracotta industry, Impruneta will be a stop to visit the famous Chianti and Tuscany countryside.It was known in ancient times as 'in prunetis' or 'in pineta' (within the pine woods) and indeed remnants of beautiful pine forests may still be seen interspersed among the olive groves on some of the surrounding hills. During the mediaeval period, Impruneta and the surrounding villages were part of the fiefdom of the Buondelmonti family whose castle was in the village of Montebuoni. The Church of Santa Maria at Impruneta became ever more well-known for the sacred and miraculous effigy of the Madonna housed there. Pilgrims came in large numbers and a famous fair took place and still takes place on the feast of Saint Luke, 18 October. Originally a feast associated with the movement and sale of livestock, it is now celebrated with stalls, dinners and horse races. A small village important for the production of pottery had developed near the church. The first record of terracotta manufacture dates from 1098 and the production of terracotta tiles, pottery and bricks has continued to flourish to the present time. The church and its treasure, and the pottery kilns and their output are the principal reasons to visit Impruneta. However, there are many other interesting sights in Impruneta and nearby, and throughout the year there are festivals and cultural activities that make the short journey from Florence worthwhile.
