Description of objectHere, in the tiny medieval village of Donato in Poggio-the heart of the Chianti region-is an enchanting penthouse flat full of the flavor and history of Tuscany.Climb steps from the cobbled streets of this 13th century village to a delightful duplex with views of the village on one side and of the glorious countryside on the other. Ancient beamed ceilings and terra cotta floors add to the charm of the place, as does the open fire in the living room and the wood-fired pizza oven in the kitchen. Just downstairs are gourmet food shops, a baker, several very good restaurants, and lovely village shops. two banks, a pharmacy, and the post office are all within easy walking distance. Three bedrooms and a loft provide ample and comfortable sleeping accomodations. The 2, bathrooms are handsomely appointed with modem fixtures. There is unlimited hot water and the flat is centrally heated. The large kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with local wine, olive oil, pasta, and other essential delights of the region. lt is difficult to imagine a better way to experience the art, the culture, the history, an d the magical landscape of Tuscany. San Donato is an ideal central point for daily excursions-just 25 minutes from the center of Florence to the north, and a lovely 22-mile drive from Siena in the south ... with a world of timeless beauty in between. THE LAYOUT: The flat has a foyer, a large living room with a fireplace, a spacious eat-in kitchen/den with a brick wood-burning pizza oven. There are three bedrooms: a master bedroom with kingsize bed, one bedroom with a double bed, one with a single bed. The loft aver the living room also has two extra beds,. The flat can comfortably accommodate up to five adults. There is a full bathroom with two sinks, a large mirror, a bathtub and shower, and one full bathroom with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with plates and glasses, silverware, utensils, and cooking vessels. There is a dishwasher, refrigerator, and a utility room with wood storage, washing machine,dryer and sink. Unlimited hot water and central heating. Maid service is provided once a week..
