Description of objectLa Villa is an exclusive country residence situated in the green hills of northern Umbria between Gubbio and Citta' di Castello. Its location, only 3 km from Pietralunga, a medieval town not yet frequented by tourists, allows you to experience the real taste of Umbrian hospitality. It is a perfect spot to discover Umbria, its beautiful landscape and famous cities. Moreover Tuscany and the Adriatic coast are not far away.The house is a typical Umbrian stone farmhouse dating back from centuries ago, surrounded by 2 ha. of private land and offering a panoramic view across the Carpina valley. In this paradise of peace you can enjoy the sunny climate and fresh air, the tranquillity, the beautiful evenings under a star filled sky that will give you the right Italian experience. The owners have recently restored the house with particular care, respecting the original architecture. High ceilings, exposed wooden beams, stone features and terracotta tiles provide a rustic atmosphere. La Villa offers three comfortable apartments with very attractive interiors: La Terrazza (sleeps 4-5), Il Loggiato (sleeps 2) and Caifem (sleeps 2). The apartments are fully independent with private terrace, very tastefully furnished and decorated, with all comforts. Each room has a private bathroom and the modern design sanitary is of high quality. The luxurious fabrics for decoration and linen have been chosen with great care and meet the highest standards. A beautiful swimming pool (10 x 5 m) is situated on the south side of the house and offers a fantastic view over the surrounding hills. There are comfortable sun beds and the pool area includes a shower/dressing/laundry room as well as a covered terrace (gazebo) with luxurious lounge sofa's and an open fire place. In front of the house there is a large piazza for common use where, on request, it is possible to enjoy an outside meal together with the other guests. Maid service and a private cook are available on request. Outside of highseason breakfast can be included. The owners, a Dutch couple, who live in a part of the main house will be happy to make you feel at home, to give the information you might need for a perfect holiday and to invite you for a glass of wine in their wine cellar or for a pizza prepared in the wood burned oven. Horse riding, archery, tennis, fishing, trekking and ultra-light flying within 5 min. There are two golf courses at half an hour drive.Lake Trasimeno with its little towns and islands, and the beaches of the Adriatic coast are a one hour drive, and lovers of culture can visit the famous historical and medieval towns like Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Cortona, Spoleto, Todi and Orvieto and enjoy the museums, theatres, restaurants and the shopping possibilities. Also the cities of Rome, Florence and Siena can be reached by car or train. Moreover almost every town or little village in Umbria has its own festival or 'sagra' where history and traditions come alive with customs of the past, historical costumes, music and gourmet specialties. For those who have a special interest in wine and/or olive oil there are several estates and wine areas that are worthwhile visiting. In late autumn and winter guests can go on mushroom and truffle picking with a local guide and when there is snow the nearby Apennines offer winter sports on a small scale. Not far from La Villa you can find several restaurants serving all the local delicacies and typical Umbrian dishes. Shops and supermarkets are also close by.
