GOLF - Waterville has 2 golf courses. One is over 100 years old and is rated among the top 5 courses in Ireland and the top 20 links courses in the world. The other is a new development which boasts spectacular coastal sights and a challenge for most golfers.
FISHING - The Cummeragh River, with it's five upper loughs, Derriana, Namona, Cloonaghlin, Na hUisce and Coppal, feeding the main Cummeragh River which flows into Lough Currane, (17 miles in circumference), before entering the sea by a short river. All these loughs contain Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout. Higher in the hills there are numerous smaller loughs, rarely fished, containing Waterville is situated half way around the Ring of Kerry. The lnny River, is a useful sized spate river some 15 miles in length which supports a good run of Salmon and Sea Trout from June onwards.
HILL WALKING - The Kerry Way is a hill walk that offers may different routes around the Ring of Kerry - if you are fit it is well worth the track - the scenery is spectacular.
WATER SPORTS - Scuba Diving, Sailing, Surfing, Water-skiing, Boating, Swimming at Derrynane, Waterville or Ballinskelligs beach.
PONY TREKKING - Great way to view the spectacular coastal sights around the local area.
