Description of objectHaus Anna Maria is a half-timbered house built in about 1850. It was refurbished and tastefully modernised a few years ago but still oozes character.It has recently been newly furnished ready for letting. It has 3 double bedrooms with 'continental' double beds, e.g. each has two full size single mattresses with in a single frame, so each is 6ft wide). The house is fully fitted to comfortably accommodate 6 adults/people and has a ground floor fully fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge, a kitchen table/6 chairs, a separate Utility Room with separate washing machine and tumble dryer and downstairs WC. The first floor comprises a large open plan beamed lounge/dinning room with 3 seater and 2 seater settees plus a single armchair together with a dining table with 6 chairs. It has cable TV, DVD and CD players. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and the bathroom which has bath and separate newly installed shower. The top floor houses the master bedroom which also leads to a small terrace. This bedroom has a separate wine (or beer!) fridge to save you popping up and down the stairs for replacements. Importantly in this old town where parking is at a premium, Haus Anna Maria has 2 parking places immediately in front of the house. Location of objectBernkastel is situated by the Mosel which is famous for its many vineyards which produces many fine fines, the most well known of whichis the Riesling.You can walk or cycle through the vineyards or view them as you take a slow boat trip along the Mosel on one of the leasure boats that operate from Bernkastel.Above the Mosel to the south and east of Bernkastel is the Hunsrueck plateau, This sits above the Mosel, Saar and Rhine river valleys. This is area is rich in forests, welcoming villages and beautiful countryside. Luxemburg is not far away to the south and well worth a days visit as is Trier a large Roman town. A short drive away are the Theme parks of Eifel which the children will love. In short this area is perfect for either a relaxing break or something a little more energetic with something to offer for all the family, young and old alike. Town: Germany, Mosel, Bernkastel-KuesBernkastel has a famous and very picturesque old market square which is also the centre for it annual Christmas market. Bernkastel-Kues lies in the Middle Mosel, between Trier and Traben-Trarbach and is famous for some of the finest Riesling vineyards in all Germany.The Landshut Castle of Bernkastel looks down upon the town and you can enjoy fantastic views of the Mosel valley and Bernkastel from its elevated position. There are many cafés and Restaurants to choose from in the narrow streets and alleys of Bernkastel. In summer you can sit outside and enjoy the ambience of the town whilst sipping a coffee, beer, or of course a glass of Riesling as well as maybe sampling one of the cakes that Germany is renowned for. There is always something happening in Bernkastel, from its wine festival, Christmas Market, music festivals, balloon festival and one day a year they even close the roads to cars and the cyclists take over! Then of course there are river cruises, many miles of walking paths and many cycle ways.
