Description of objectPorto Rafti is located on a small bay on the east coast.A 40 minute drive from Athens and only 15 minutes away from Athens airport. The house is situated high on the top of the mountain in an area called Bathista. It has an all-around balcony with a fantastic mountain and seaview. Suitable for rent either summer or winter. The property is for rent weekly,seasonal, or yearly contract basis. With central heating, solar heater, boiler, 2 A/C, satellite tv, cable tv,fitted kitchen, and uninterrupted water supply. Shops, banks and public transport are 5 minutes away by car.
Location of objectThe bay of Porto Rafti extends approximately ten (10) kms giving access to good sandy, clean beaches which the house overlooks. The house main balcony and living room face the east enjoying marvellous early sunrises. Town: Greece, Attiki, Porto RaftiPorto Rafti (Greek: Πόρτο Ράφτη), official name: Limin Mesogeias (Greek: Λιμήν Μεσογείας) or Limani Mesogeias (means port of the Mesogeia region), population: 7,131 (2001). It is a seaside town, engulfing the picturesque Porto Rafti Bay in the east coast of Attica, 38 km from the center of Athens, Greece and is located very close to the new Athens International Airport (www.aia.gr), the Attiki Odos and to the closed Olympic Equestrian of Athens. Porto Rafti is part of the Markopoulo Mesogeias municipality in the East Attica prefecture. The area has beautiful beaches,restaurants serving traditional Greek food (tavernas), hotels and apartments for rent during the holidays. In Porto Rafti thousands of Athens' residents have built their country-houses for their holidays. The port of Porto Rafti is no longer in use due to environmental concerns. From this port took place the allied troops evacuation after the German invasion in Greece (end of April 1941). The port was a major trading place during the Ancient times and until the collapse of the Roman Empire. The names of the ancient villages were Prassiai, Steiria and Koroni, they belonged to the Pandionis tribe according to the division of Ancient Athens Democracy made by Clisthenes in the early 5th BC century. As the city is surrounded by two hills (Merenta peak 613 m above sea level, and Perati) it is isolated from the rest of Attica and thus the climate resembles mostly to that of the Aegean Islands with relatively mild winters and hot dry summers.
