Description of objectHOUSE JEWEL !In the heart of Ortigia Island, the center of the Sicilian Baroque style , is this beautiful little apartment on two levels, recently renovated , tastefully furnished , air conditioned and equipped with every comfort. It is located 100 mt. Piazza Duomo, Piazza Archimede , the mythical fountain of Arethusa, the Porta Marina, the Maniace Castle , the picturesque fish market. A few steps you can take advantage of all the services: bars, restaurants, pubs, pizzerias, sun , boating , shopping , car , boat , bike, taxi , laundry , night clubs etc. . Location of objectThe Giudecca district (called \\\'A Iureca \\\' by the Syracusans ) is one of the oldest of the historic center of Ortigia, but it should also be said that this area has had a difficult past because it was regarded as a neighborhood \\\' second-class \\\' because many of its historic monuments have been left to fall into disrepair making it the most degraded area of the historical center of the city aretusea . In the fifteenth century , however, the then governor of Syracuse, John Cardenas meant that the Jewish community could be placed at the current district of Giudecca thus having the same privileges as their fellow citizens. Going back to the Giudecca , it must be said here that there are a lot of Christian sacred buildings arose on the ruins of synagogues which also have underground cellars where there were placed the \\\' miqwaot \\\', but also many buildings architectural style characterized by a mix of Sicilian Baroque and Hebrew Israelite style with elements that hark back to medieval and Renaissance architectural styles crossed by narrow , winding lanes ( lanes I, II , III and IV on the Giudecca ) that connect to the Ways of the Giudecca and the Crucifix ( on the site of the same name Church , which was destroyed in the earthquake of 1693 and abolished in favor of that of St. Philip the Apostle ) . It should be noted , finally, that this district is also part of the area known as \\\' Cannamela \\\' which will be discussed in the same link .
