Description of objectEnjoy the magic of living in a historic house, among breathtaking frescoes, and in the very heart of historical Tuscany: a holiday of culture and good life.A monumental 18th-century castle opens its doors to show you the stunning paintings which adorn its walls and ceilings, and welcome you in the atmosphere of a charming and comfortable apartment. Don\'t miss the opportunity to see the frescoes, to learn more about the intriguing saga of a family which played a significant role in Italian art and history, and to get the feel of this seductive mansion. Located just 2 minutes from the motorway exit, the property is the ideal base for your art itineraries to Pisa, Lucca, Firenze, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Siena. Car is not necessary!! Bus stop and train station, as well as shops and restaurants, are at walking distance. After a cultural tour, relax lying on the sun beds in the large garden which surrounds the palace or reading a good book in the shade of age-old plane trees while sipping a fresh orange juice. Enjoy the classical music concerts which are often given in the garden or in the momumental halls of the villa, free of charge for guests. Take exercice in the garden playing table tennis or go for a trip with the bicycles at your disposal. Public tennis courts and swimming pools are just a few minutes from the palace. If you love the sea, the coast is not far and you have a wide range of beaches to choose among. Do you like Italian food? There are several shops nearby, where you can buy good Italian food and wine. Don\'t you like cooking? There are restaurants, pizzerie, bars, pastry shops, take away food and take away pizza at walking distance. The owners live in the castle and are on hand to give advise on where to go, what to see and what to eat. Prices are for 2 people. Please ask for 3 to 4 people. Location of objectFly to Pisa (cheap flights available from Ryanair, Easyjet and other low cost airlines).Car hire available at the airport. By car: from the airport take the motorway for Florence, exit at Navacchio (second exit, only 5 minutes driving). The house is just 2 minutes from the exit. By train: from Pisa Central Station take the local train for Florence and get off in Navacchio after 7 minutes travelling. We are 700 meters from the station. Direct trains to Pisa and Florence all day; good connections with all the main art cities in Tuscany. By bus: from Pisa city centre only 10 minutes travelling. Bus stop 400 meter from house. On request, we can collect you at Pisa Airport or at Pisa Central Station, free of charge. Lucca is only 30 minutes driving, Florence, San Gimignano and Volterra 60, Siena 90. The sea is only 20 minutes driving. Town: Italy, Tuscany, PisaPisa is wellknown for its leaning tower and the amazing Piazza dei Miracoli, which don\'t need any further description. But there are many other monuments and places which are well worth seeing while walking through the city centre, after having a drink in a stylish café or tasting a real Italian homemade ice cream.Not far from Pisa visit Calci, a nice old town in the country with its beautiful Certosa, S. Miniato (a medieval town with landscapes on Arno valley and countryside), S. Piero a Grado (basilica). In June a festival is held in Pisa, called \'Giugno Pisano\' with music, traditonal games, exhibitions. On June 16th at night \'Luminaria di S. Ranieri\': thousands of candles adorn all the buildings along the river Arno and reflect their shapes on the water; unforgettable! For opera lovers, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago (July to August). Classical music festival \'Anima Mundi\' in the monumental cathedral (September-October). Good nigthlife on the coast, particularly in Summer: discos, pubs, live music, jazz concerts. Walk on the hills around Pisa among picturesque villages with a superb view over the country up to the sea and the isles. Cycle lane along the river Arno, many tennis courts and swimming pools available. Beach, boat rent, surfing and sailing in Tirrenia. Good fish restaurants in Marina di Pisa. Lots of cosy restaurants also in the city centre and in the country, where it is not easy to choose between traditional or innovative offerings! Wide range of high quality red and white wines. Autumn and Winter are the best seasons to taste Italian food: don\'t miss the famous white truffles in S. Miniato, only 30 minutes driving from the villa. In November an important food festival is held, which features plenty of delicious dishes with truffles as well as the excellent red wines of the area. Traditonal \'sagre\' everywhere in the countryside in Summer, which are outdoors gastronomic festivals, each offering food and wine inspired by a particular theme or ingredient, depending on the typical produce of the place. Excellent chocolate from local producers. Antique market on the second Suturday and Sunday of each month in Pisa; on the third in Lucca. Beauty treatments in the famous thermal spas S. Giuliano and Casciana.
