In total there are three bathrooms – one with a tub, one with massage shower and one with a regular shower. When at the property you have a feeling that you are at the end of the world, as here you are completely undisturbed. Despite this, in only five minutes you are in the medieval town of Caccamo. The coastal town of Termini Imerese is a trip of 10 minutes. The property has got a high location and the view is completely breathtaking. Here you have the Mediterranean Sea and the coastal town of Termini Imerese at your feet as well as dramatic mountain views on the sides. Next to the property there is a nature park, with walking trails, barbecue areas, etc. From here you can take a walk to the top of Monte San Calogero and enjoy a 360° view over beautiful Sicily and the sea. A couple of kilometers away, you have access to horse riding in beautiful countryside nature, water skiing, canoe rental etc. The authentic, historical town of Termini Imerese is only 10 minutes away. Caccamo (ca 3 km) This charming Town is located approximately 40 km from Palermo, on a western spur of Monte San Calogero, in the San Leonardo Valley. Situated above a large lake, which in the Summer time plays host to many water sports, the town has ancient origins. The name, which is derived from ‘caccabe’ [horse-heads], may have been given by the Carthaginians who took refuge here after their defeat at Himera in 480 BC. The most characteristic monument in Caccamo is, without any doubt, the Norman Castle, which towers majestically above a sheer-dropping rock. The Castle is solid and compact in appearance, a typical fortified building with continuous curtain walls, bastion and battlements. Termini Imerese (ca 6 km) Termini Imerese is a town with 30.000 inhabitants on Sicily’s northern coast, located between Palermo and Cefalu. It has roots as far back as 400 BC. The city has a large “Centro Storico”, with bustling streets and plenty of bars, shops, vegetable and fish vendors. Here you find a few tourists, but to a limited extent. The town has a long and interesting story. On wikipedia is more to read about the historical development. The city is built on a slope, and is divided into two parts, upper and lower Termini, linked by a “street” in the form of a long, flat staircase called Via Roma. The city’s upper part (Termini Alta) is more modern and here are the beautiful Duomo, with its great piazza and the beautiful Belvedere where the “Termitani” takes their Sunday evenings walk, eat ice cream and socialize. You will also find modern bars with DJ, large beer gardens open year round and the best ice cream bars. The lower part (Termini Bassa) is more original. Here are the town’s oldest parts. Here you find bars that open four o’clock in the morning, for the fishermen to be able to drink their coffee before they go out and fishes, and here you also find the town’s fish and vegetable street. This is where the housewives in the mornings go and buy fresh fish, seafood and vegetables. And vendors are working hard to drown each other. Here, the bars are smaller and more “original”. They are more used to quickly drink the coffee or amaro at the bar and chat a while, than to be put at the table with long drinks. A big advantage is that the city is a hub for rail traffic. All trains stop here, and train leaves for Palermo train every half hour. Also trains going to northern Italy stops here. The beach is rocky, but nice and well attended. Here are sun umbrellas, the possibility to rent beach chairs, a couple of cafes, bars, lifeguards, showers, discoteque... Location of objectThe villa has a private and extremely panoramic location. Here you are up on the beautiful mountain Monte San Calogero, with a nature park and walking trail directly up to the mountain top next to the house.Even if the location is very secluded, you are only five minutes drive from the medieval town of Caccamo and ten minutes from the larger coastal town of Termini Imerese.
