Description of objectSwimming under the Languedoc sun in a flower garden overlooking the vineyards of Marseillan. This is the life - for just 8 weeks in summer.Behind the blue gates and tall palm tree, on the very edge of the village, the Villa Belle Vue is a much cherished family home for ten months of the year, yet in July and August, the privilege could be yours. This three bedroom villa has its patios and veranda; the 8x4metre swimming pool bordered by sunbeds and recliners, flower beds and high hedges; the terrace at the rear of the house, with covered dining area and stone barbecue, the perfect viewing point for a southern panorama of vineyards, green leaves glowing russet gold in the weeks before harvest-tide. And all this, a comfortable 10-minute wander down to the village, the restaurants on the quays, the wineries and market stalls of the historic centre and the melon farmer\'s stalls on the road to the plages. Bring your shopping home and prepare for a week of two of self indulgence. The kitchen is well equipped for entertaining and preparing family meals with the spoils of your trip to the market and the wine cellars. Oven, hob, microwave, american style fridge freezer and ice dispenser, dishwasher and washing machine. Dine in the very spacious salon, with its table and chairs at one end and comfy soft furnishings at the other. The charm of the villa is that it is no bland professional holiday property, but a genuine French family home that has evolved through the years to provide a true welcome a la francaise. You may prefer to serve aperitifs in the conservatory or spread out a laze and graze feast outside. Here on the terrace, amid the true colours of the Mediterranean, blue shutters, terracotta roof tiles, bougainvillea and oleander, is Where you can raise a glass of the village picpoul or chilled cinsault to toast the very fines that bore the fruit. Picture the table laden with olives and cheeses, jugs of white wine and rose, big bowls of salad, platters of the finest seafood from the oyster fisherman who lives around the corner. Crusty bread from the boulangerie on the road into the village, ripe tomato and salads from local market gardens and fresh figs scrumped from trees along the road to the beaches. Mostly, we imagine, you will be spending your summer in the pool, or lazing on a recliner with a glass of Noilly Prat with freshly dispensed ice, as you watch the rest of the family taking the waters! There are three double bedrooms. the master bedroom on the ground floor has access to the main bathroom, with its proper bathtub and seperate shower. There is another shower room by the den, serving the other bedrooms upstairs under the eaves. The house is spread out with over 160 square metres of living space, and 50sq metres of patio outside means that everyone in the family can find a corner of ones own. Room behind the big blue gates to park two cars - useful for the 5-10 minute drive to the beach; but the shuttle bus to the Mediterranean sands passes along the rue des avenue Chassefiere 300 metres away. Sit under the shade of a pergola to catch up on your emails - there is wifi at the house for keeping in touch with family back home and planning days out. Location of objectIn a sleepy cul de sac on the edge of the vineyards; a few minutes from the main road between the village and the beaches; the village is a 10 minute stroll away and the restaurants of the pretty fishing port close by.Town: France, Marseillan, Marseillan\'The principal export of Marseillan is love at first sight\' so says the latest guidebook to the Languedoc, of this oldest village in France whose pretty historic port, where the Canal du Midi meets the Med, is hailed as \'like St Tropez before Bardot\' according to the Sunday Times. 5 minutes from endless sandy beaches, yet nestling on an inland Mediterranean lagoo, this bustling village, which has been home to the Greeks, Romans and many more cultures, is a year round delight. Food Heaven, say some, enjoying two dozen restaurants, delicious wines from the vineyards that embrace the horizon and the world famous oysters of the fishing port. In Summer, festivals, from Jazz to eccentric water sports, enliven the calendar and off season concerts in the church, country markets and dances make Marseillan a very special place indeed. The essential companion to any trip is the Lazy France Guide to Marseillan and a lot of Languedoc.
