Description of objectThe house is designed to fit the islands character by combining elements of wood and stone. The exterior setting consists of paved space and of a 10 x 5 m swimming pool(operating from May the 1st till October the 15th ) which is framed by grass lawn . A wooden pergola is set up and attached to the preface of the house and below it there is room for sitting and dinning while still maintaining a view of the sea , the sky and the natural scenery.
The interior offers a variety of features which vary from the traditional aesthetic to the modern one . The rooms are spacious and openly connect to each other , thus attributing a sense of wholeness to the interior space . Moreover they are designed and decorated in such a manner so as to be both aesthetically pleasing but also simplistic in nature and practical to live in .
Villa Melissa is divided in two floors , connected by a staircase. The lower one is occupied by a large living room and a sitting room , a fully equipped kitchen , a guest room and a bathroom( Shower/Wc with shower cabin) . Almost every one of the rooms connects with the exterior space by French doors that allow plenty of natural light to penetrate into the villa and also provide a view to the sea.
The upper floor consists of two bedrooms with queen sized beds , which are served by a single bathroom and a master bedroom with its own bathroom. These rooms share the same qualities with the ones of the ground floor , having ample natural lighting and unrestricted view to the sea .
Enjoy your stay .
Location of object Villa Melissa is situated at the southwest side of Andros at an ideal location that provides a marvelous view of the sea extending from behind the cliffs and the islands of Yaros, Kea ( Tzia ) and Siros at the horizon.
At a close distance from the house there are the organized ( sunbeds , umbrellas & beach bar facilities ) beaches of Apothikes and Halkolimionas which both display unique characteristics and can be quickly reached within a 5 minute ride . All other beaches of the southern side of the island can be easily reached within a 15-20 minute ride .
The Villa is positioned right in the middle of the distance between the two major towns of Bátsi and Andros (Chora) and travelling to either one of them should not take more than 15 minutes .
Town: Greece, NOTIO AIGAIO, ANDROSAndros is the northernmost island of the Greek Cyclades archipelago .
It is nearly 40 km (25 mi) long, and its greatest breadth is 16 km (10 mi). Its surface is for the most part mountainous, with many fruitful valleys.
The island is best known for the many fresh water springs that are scattered along its extent. The presence of water has aided the growth of patches of excessive vegetation which cover many of its hills , altering the islands image and thus separating it from the rest of the Cyclades. Therefore it is no wonder that Andros is also known as Hydrousa which , in greek , translates to “ she who bears water “ .
The largest towns on the island are those of Andros , Gávrio , Bátsi , and Korthí .Andros is the busy capital of the island and provides the visitor with the option of walking along the lively main road which is framed by old manors , majestic buildings and various shops , taverns and bars that specialize in local artifacts cuisine and treats , or looking for its hidden beauties by diverging from the standard route and penetrating deeper into the town to uncover picturesque views of the capital and the sea that is surrounding both its left and right side or visit exhibitions and museums that cover subjects ranging from modern and contemporary art to documentations of the wildlife .However if solitude is what the visitor seeks then the local settlements with the quaint houses and the narrow , dimly lit passageways that reside on Andros hills offer a chance of being explored to the point of merging into the local culture and way of living. The coastline of Andros is full of beautiful beaches , the majority of which are easily accessed . The visitor can visit those that are organized with sunbeds and beach bars or explore the ones that are hidden inside untouched natural scenery .
