The rolling landscape of Denmark’s North Zealand is a landscape painter’s dream. The golden summer sun floats high in the sky, warming the bright cornfields and green forests. Danish monarchs loved this idyllic landscape, the beautiful birdsong and the stately beech trees.
The forests of North Zealand have long been an enticing destination for Danish royalty. It has been a favourite hunting ground. There is no other area in Denmark where royal castles and palaces have been built so close together.
North Zealand became Monarchic Denmark. Any self-respecting Danish monarch had to build a castle. It was evidence of royal power, honour and wealth. The castles were used as royal residences and official state venues, for wedding receptions, and occasionally, as secret love nests.
The green countryside of North Zealand is full of wonderful things for you to experience. We do our best to look after the natural environment and can therefore offer some great places in which to walk, run, cycle, etc., in a beautiful, unspoilt area.

The coast is a very attractive holiday area a short distance from several golf courses offf a high quality and of course the advantage of being close to both the capital Copenhagen as well as the commercial and resort town of Elsinore.
Activity can include angling in Denmark\'s second largest lake, Lake Esrum or go with the boat from Elsinore for sea fishing, which is one of the best fishing places in Scandinavia - the boats sail every day and all year round. The beautiful scenery and the large forest areas opens many opportunities for long promenades to both known and unknown natural pearls.
