Description of objectOne of 2 delightful cottages, 1 bedroom, sleeps 2, would suit a couple or a family with a young child (cot available on request). Situated on the side of the valley, the views from the terrace overlooking the valley and the château are truly beautiful. The property includes one large double bedroom, with an American king size bed and TV with UK satellite. A fully equipped open plan kitchen and dining area. Both the living area and the bedroom open out onto a secluded terrace overlooking the valley, where you can sit and enjoy your breakfast. Or later in the evening watch the sun go down behind the château, whilst enjoying a glass of the local wine. The property is at the end of a quiet lane, so there is no traffic, no noise and no distraction The property has been renovated as it was originally a barn, it is newly decorated and furnished, so has a bright and light feel to it, whist still retaining some of the original oak beams and woodwork. This really is the perfect get away from it all holiday.
Location of objectAn all year round destination, the Dordogne has something for everyone. Make the most of the lower season rates and visit us in the Autumn or the Spring, when the scenery is spectacular as the seasons change and the climate is perfect for walking and cycling. As an area famous worldwide for its culinary dishes, the Dordogne has many food fairs and festivals, including the truffle festival in late November and the goose festival in February. And of course the world famous ‘foie gras’ is celebrated all year round but particularly in the Autumn with lots of markets and fairs all over the region.
There are regular flights with Ryan Air and FlyBe to Bergerac and Limoges, so you can be here in no time at all and often at remarkably low prices.
Town: France, Perigord Noir, Rouffignac St CerninIdeally situated, the cottage is nestled on the side of a valley, with spectacular views of the chateau and the surrounding countryside. A short drive will take you to all the tourist sites, including the famous medieval town of Sarlat, the caves at Les Eyzies and Montignac, walk the cobbled streets of the ancient Roman city of Perigueux and visit one of the many chateaux near Beynac and Domme. For the more adventurous, take a canoe trip down the beautiful River Vezere or enjoy the views from the skies in a hot air balloon.
And at the end of a long day site seeing, relax in what is quite possibly one of the most tranquil places on earth. Known as the land of 1000 chateaux and the birth place of modern man, the Dordogne is a truly magical place. We hope to see you soon
