Porreres is located between hills in a predominantly agricultural region, with vineyards, where the first Mallorcan champagne was produced. At the 245m high hill on the outskirts of the village is the monastery of Monti-Sion, which in the 14th Century was founded. Due to its central location, you are in 15 minutes at the next beach or in the Tramuntana mountains. Tuesdays will be held on the central marketplace of the weekly market. Patron of the town is Sant Roc, on 16 August is celebrated. A big fair takes place on the last Sunday in October.
