If not, then go to Pāvilosta! Enjoy the beautiful, wind nature and calmness which abounds. And, by the way, it is the place where they have the largest number of sunny days in Latvia.The River Saka flow thought Pāvilosta and is one of the shortest (only 6km) and one of the deepest rivers in Latvia (the depth reaches 11meters at places). At the mouth of the river there is port. Pavilostas local history museum is located in the first stone building of Pāvilosta. In the center of the town there is a ship, the “Dole”. It is a typical Soviet fishing vessel. Pāvilosta is a popular place for enjoying the pleasure of the wind and waves. Every visitor has the possibility to go to sea in small ship, to taste freshly smoked fish or to see one or other of the rare pines. The Storm pine is included in coat of arms of Pāvilosta Town, but the silhouette of Love Pines resembles the outline of Latvia. Yachtmen are very welcome to Pāvilosta.
