The Machan is surrounded by 25 acres of lush forest and hangs over the edge of a precipice. Situated a mere two and a half hours drive from Bombay (one and a half hours from Pune), this makes for an exceptionally accessible personal getaway. The Machan has three distinctive bedrooms each equipped with a double bed, two full bathrooms and a kitchenette. It has been designed to comfortably sleep up to six adults.
The Machan is a Nut and Bolt steel structure clad in wood, designed to withstand earthquakes and wind speeds of up to 170 Kmph. The foundations go down to the hard rock and the highest point [the crow’s nest] is 85 ft. from the ground. No machines were used in its erection nor were any trees cut or damaged in the process. The structure was designed to be one with nature and was constructed with that in mind.
It has four levels – i] The Main Deck ii] The Hanging Room iii] The Loft iv] The Crow’s nest.

1. Take the Mumbai-Pune Expressway to the Lonavala/Khandala Exit (onto the old highway NH4)
2. Turn Right (coming from Mumbai)/Turn Left (coming from Pune) at the Kumar Resorts T-junction on NH4
3. Follow directions to Aamby Valley/INS Shivaji onto Jalvaayu Marg 1.7km
4. Continue on Jalvaayu Marg until you pass Air force colony on your left 6.7km
5. Follow this road (Aamby Valley road) to Cloud9 Resort 6.5km
6. At Coud9 Resort Turn Left and again immediate Left towards Essar Agrotech
7. Follow this road until you spot a whitewashed stone on the Left 0.9km
8. Turn Left onto Private Access Road and follow it to the Machan
