Location of objectThe coast of the Vendée and Poitou-Charentes is well known for its fine, sandy, beaches and good weather. The sea is warm, shallow and very clean, particularly good for children. Mervent Forest: near Fontenay-le-Comte is over 12000 acres of mixed woodland. Ideal for walking, riding cycling and picnics, the forest is also home to a water sports complex (canoes, sailing, etc), a small zoo and an amusement park. Isle de Ré: The beaches of the Ile de Ré run for 10 km along the south of the Island. They are a Mecca for windsurfers, shrimpers and shellfish gatherers, and are a wonderful place for a family day out.
Town: France, Country of the Loire, Les Sables d'OlonneLa Chaume is only 3 minutes away where there are banks, post Office, butchers, bakers, restaurants and bars. There is also a large supermarket in La Chaume and you will find Leclerc, Lidl and Intermarche supermarkets which is 5 mins drive away. Explore the many shops, weekly open air/ indoor market and outdoor swimming pool as well as the many restaurants and bars.
The nearest beach can be found at Les Sables d'Olonne 10 minutes walk. There are also quite a few more beaches all within 20 minutes.
