Description of objectThe romantic Rose Cottage is situated at the margins of a small village - a quiet location with views over pasture land and the river Treene. At approximately 100 square meters of comfortable living space with a large lounge area, fireplace (tiled oven) and furniture and decorations from Africa, Asia and South America - up to 5 people can take a break from daily life. 1000sqm of beautifully maintained garden with trees, shrubs, ponds, hammocks, barbecue and lots of roses offer fantastic recreation for couples or families.The ground floor consists of a small entrance vestibule, hall, kitchen, bathroom, living and dining room, and a bedroom with two single beds. One of the beds has an extra pull-out mattress - especially well-suited for another child. Under the other bed, you can also open a drawer, in which there are some toys. A table by the window is perfect for writing your journal or your new novel, or for children to play or draw. In the living room you can relax on a large corner sofa, watching TV, reading or enjoying the view into the garden. In the old chest of drawers by the tile oven you will find a wide selection of DVDs for adults and children and some more games. The large dining table provides space and comfort for an extensive dinner or a game night. For our smallest guests an adjustable high chair is available. Should it be a little chilly at night, simply light a fire in the stove (accessed from the kitchen) and make yourself comfortable. The kitchen offers a good selection of cookware, microwave, 4 burner stove with oven, blender, wok, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator and freezer. The bathroom has a central room with sink, washing machine and plenty of storage space. From here the toilet and shower room are separated, so there will be no crowding and families or groups are able to get ready in no time. From the hall a staircase leads to the upstairs spacious bedroom with a double bed, windows in every direction, and a rocking chair in front of the sloping roof window from which you have a wonderful view over the garden and Treene. If you are traveling with baby or toddler, a cot is available. Near the stairs you will find a rich selection of books you may enjoy reading. There is also a second TV. The car can be parked on the premises. Children can romp in the front yard. If you come during apple time, you are very welcome to help yourself. The apples are excellent for apple sauce, juice and cakes. There are also fresh herbs in the rear garden to supplement your kitchen. From May and June onwards the rhododendrons and roses are blooming and it is delightful to sit on the bench and enjoy the scent of the herbs and flowers. Garden chairs are ready for you, as is a paved BBQ area with grill pan. You can also make a bonfire to get you in the holiday mood. Should you feel particularly lazy and relaxed, just hang up a few hammocks at the south end of the garden and let your mind wander. The Rose Cottage is bright and cosy, and the garden may cast a soothing spell on you. Enjoy the peacea dn quiet and long, very long sunsets over the meadows. The countryside is very attractive in all seasons and exudes a special mood and atmosphere that can be fantastic even in the winter. Location of objectThe Rose Cottage is in a quiet and unobstructed peripheral location next to a pasture, and in walking distance to the river Treene.The nearest village with shops (bank, bakery, small supermarket, Treene- swimming pool is just 2 km and a nice bicycle ride through the fields away. If you like fresh milk straight from the barn, you can pick up some at the Carsten Farm in Hude Town: Germany, Nordfriesland, HudeThe small village of Hude is situated in Schleswig-Holstein's most beautiful river scenery (formed by the rivers Eider, Treene and Sorge) and the typical marsh and Geest, in close proximity to the Treene whose wonderfully clean water invites in many places for swimming, fishing and kayaking or canoeing. The central location allows superb day trips, for example in the Dutch town of Friedrichstadt with its remarkable gabled houses, museums and canals in the historical part of the town, to Schleswig for the Vikings museum Haithabu and the old wall of Waldemar or in the picturesque harbor town of Husum with the Castle, Theodor-Storm-house and many other cultural possibilities. Particular mention deserves the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'National Park Wattenmeer”, which extends around the North Frisian Islands (island of Sylt, Amrum and Föhr) and the islets and offers fascinating excursions. The “Wattforum Tönning” gives an excellent overview of the habitat. You may want to visit beautiful aquarium or the seal station. The North Sea, with its vast sandy beaches around St. Peter Ording (ca 40 min away) is easily accessible by car as is the small Danish island of Røm (2 hours away).For younger children, the amusement park Tolk near Schleswig may be interesting, or the large Adventure swimming pool in Heide. Depending on the season there could be several pirates events in the area. A dense network of marked cycle paths provide unique insights into the wide meadows, ancient woods and bogs. Walking with binoculars and hiking map at hand, you will get varied insights into the intact nature, perhaps you may like to combine your walk with a visit to one of the many farm-cafes with excellent home made cakes. Some even offer overnight stays in hay and straw. Fishing is possible in well-maintained fish ponds almost in walking distance from the Rose Cottage, in the Lehmsieker Forest or along the old railway bridge behind the house. In general, the Treene is a very profitable fishing area with sea trout and occasional salmon in the upper reaches, and pike, eel and catfish in the lower reaches. Horse lovers are easily catered for: Rides are offered by many farms,e.g with magnificent 'Fjord horses' in the spa town Süderstapel on the Eider, or enjoy horse-drawn carriage ridesin the Schwabstedter hinterland available at the farm Möller. Would you like to pursue your golfing ambitions? On the edge of Husum is the Golf Club 'Husum Bay', in Rendsburg the 'Lohersand', and towards Heide the renowned golf course 'Gut Apeldör'. Swimming opportunities are widely available, especially if you like a river for a swimming pool. Schwabstedt, Süderstapel, Fresendelf, Bergenhusen (famous for its high stork population) and Meggerndorf offer beautiful river”beaches”. There is also an indoor swimming pool in Husum, and of course the beaches of the Baltic and North Sea. In the near vicinity you have the Schwabstedter shops (Bank, Baker, small super market, flower shop) and bigger supermarkets like Sky, Aldi and Lidl are in Freidrichstadt. Weekly markets (including fish markets) are held on Friday in Friedrichstadt and Thursdays in Husum.
