Description of objectThe stone farmhouse was apparently built in the late 17 century. It has solid stone walls and a mass of original oak timber beams throughout the house that have been retained during the renovation of the house in 2004.
It has 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom sleeps 4 people and there is a cot available for babies. There is an en-suite with 2 washbasins and wc and a shower has been built into the original tower. There are 3 further double bedrooms. The veranda overlooks the illuminated and heated pool. There is a gas BBQ and table and seating for 12 people.
The study has a magnificent stone inglenook fireplace and overlooks the garden. The main lounge has a log burning stove, bar unit, sink and dishwasher and direct access to the pool.
The rustic farmhouse kitchen offers a large gas range with 5 burners and large oven, dishwasher, washing machine, chest freezer, upright freezer and a double Belfast sink.
The garden is 1000sqm and is mainly trees and shrubs with a boule court and parking for 4 cars.
Location of objectThe property is located on the edge of the hamlet which has a very old church and the remains of the village stocks. The hillside village had a fort during the Napoleonic war but this has now gone but was used as a signal station to transmit messages from the marine port of Bordeaux to Paris.
Town: France, Lot et Garonne, GourdonThe house is in an old hillside hamlet that is the highest in the Lot, with magnificent views to Rocamador. It is the perfect place from which to enjoy the considerable attractions this area of France has to offer. The area is very beautiful with miles of vine yards, forest and quiet country lanes and makes a great touring base. Cycling and walking and canoeing on the nearby river Dordogne are very popular with our guests. The world famous Cahors wines are a must and the local vineyards offer tastings before you buy.
