Description of object

‘False Horizons’ is a spacious, bright and friendly two-story wooden house, inviting you to dream and relax. It features four bedrooms (three on the first floor, one on the ground floor) all with double beds and built-in cupboards. It comfortably sleeps eight people. All rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard.

A sun room on the first floor overlooks the bay and the mountains. From August to September, you can watch the whales playing in the bay. The sun room leads into a bright, spacious living and dining area (comfortably seating 8 people). From here you overlook a typical Cape terraced garden. On cooler, windy days you can enjoy a wood-burning fireplace.

The open kitchen contains everything you expect from a modern, upmarket kitchen (including a large fridge and freezer, cooker/oven, microwave and dish washer).
There are two bathrooms/toilets (one with a shower/bath, one with a shower) on the first floor, all with good water pressure. Another bathroom with shower/toilet is found on the ground floor.

The ground floor features an open plan double bedroom, living area and simple kitchen. It leads to a terraced garden. The front garden features table and benches and a large BBQ (all can be moved to the rear garden if preferred).
The house also includes a double garage (housing a washing machine and ironing facilities). The entire house is secured through a modern alarm system.

False Horizons is situated on a hillside, overlooking False Bay, Glencairn Beach and the mountains; an area famous for its beautiful beaches, water sports, the large number of whales (August to October) and bays full of protected penguins. All three upper bedrooms overlook the bay, the beach and the mountains. You can reach Glencairn beach in about 10 minutes, walking.

The house is especially well suited for families or groups. There is sufficient space to both enjoy time together and on your own, inside and outside.

Close to the house are a multitude of hiking and mountain-bike paths. Simonstown and neighbouring coastal towns offer easy access to water-sports, restaurants, bars and shops. Head into Kalk Bay to buy freshly caught fish and browse art galleries. Fly a kite on Glencairn beach. Cycling and motor-cycling fans enjoy the spectacular surroundings. Two bicycles are available.

False Horizon overlooks False Bay, about 30 minutes by car both from Cape Town city centre or the famous vineyards of Stellenbosch. The house overlooks False Bay and the mountains.

The house is situated on a hill, overlooking False Bay, Glencairn Beach and the mountains; an area famous for its pristine beaches, water sports, whale-watching (August to October) and populations of protected, mainland penguins. All three upper bedrooms overlook the bay, the beach and the mountains. You can reach a supermarket and Glencairn beach in about 10 minutes, walking. The beach is frequented by families and surfers.

Glencairn is part of Simonstown, famous for its African Penguin population, waterfront restaurants and quaint shops. Glencairn itself is a quiet town, with spectacular views, a few shops, restaurants, a spa, sports club and a multitude of stunning hiking and mountain bike paths. It is a perfect base both for mountain bikers, hikers, surfers/kite surfers and other sports fans. Simonstown centre can be reached in a few minutes by car. Cape Point is about a 15 min drive. Hop on a train from Glencairn to Cape Town city centre (taking about 40 minutes).

Not far from the house you’ll find a multitude of hiking and mountain bike paths. Simonstown and neighboring coastal towns offer access to all types of water sports, restaurants, shops and bars. Mountain bikers, motor cyclists, hikers and others enjoy the spectacular landscape. Two bicycles are available.
