It is a tranquil little village in South West Donegal, nestled at the foothills of the Sliabh Liag Mountain, which is 1972ft in height and supports the highest sea cliffs in Europe, It boasts some of the finest scenery in Ireland and is well known for its traditional Irish Music.Close by is The Glen River which drains the mountains of west Donegal into Donegal Bay. It gets a run of salmon in May and a good run of grilse in early July. There is a run of summer salmon in August. The Yellow River shares the same estuary as the Glen River. It has a good run of summer salmon and is well worth fishing in August and September when conditions are right. Best fishing spot is the Salmon Leap approx 1.5 km away. For lake fly fishermen there are a number of lakes nearby. All fishing amenities are a short distance from the house. For the water enthusiast, boat trips and kayaking are available nearby. For deep sea wreck fishermen and woman, there are boats for charter nearby. For the hill-walking enthusiast, there is a local hill-walking club which cover some of the most breathtaking routes in this part of the county. Teelin has a long history of traditional music and some of which can be enjoyed in the local pub, \\\'The Rusty\\\', approx 20 metres away or also in the village of Carrick which is a short distance away. There are also many festivals in the surrounding towns throughout the year. There are really good restaurants in the locality. The Blue Haven and Clock Tower are within a short drive and serve excellent food, which is reasonably priced. Local amenities also include\\\' Glen Folk Village\\\', which replicates the way village folk lived in the 18th, 19th and 20th century. \\\'Ireland By Bike\\\' tours take in the stunning coastal routes of Ireland\\\'s North West, which carefully selects the biking routes with the needs of the cyclist in mind. There is also an Irish Summer College nearby called \\\' Colaiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne\\\' for students who wish to learn the Irish Language. We are also fortunate to have a few beautiful beaches within short drive from Teelin.
