Description of objectLOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT? Finnish Village BreakThis country house is the ideal place for a large family or group to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. As the house is divided into 3 apartments its possible to be together and yet have privacy when you want it. If you are feeling lazy, just get some sun in the garden,or, if you have a little energy, stroll down to one of the surrounding lakes for a swim( during summer months water temperatures exceed 20C). Just a few miles to the North you have the Päijänne National Park, to the South lies Evo Nature Reserve with incredible hiking trails and well-equipped campfire sites, and well-stocked lakes for fishing. There are well-marked trails for beginners and unmarked trails for the more experienced hikers. There are shallow lakes suitable for young anglers and for the self -indulgent (and well-off), it is also possible to rent an entire lake with a small fleet of rowing boats for the afternoon or even the whole weekend. The nearest shop(and bar+ internet) with basic essentials is 100 meters down the village lane which is always open (except Christmas Day). Supermarkets are about 12 km away in Padasjoki. Location of objectFinland's forests, lakes and rivers offer incomparable amenities for relaxation and pleasure in an unpolluted environment.This large country house is located in a picturesque village nestled between Päijänne National Park and Evo Nature Reserve in the Finnish Lake District. The village was founded in 1482 and its traditional Finnish houses blend in harmoniously with the countryside. The area consists of numerous freshwater lakes rich in fish species and surrounded by some of the last surviving primeval forests in Europe. The forests are home to abundant and diverse wildlife including; elk, deer, racoon dogs, wolverines, flying squirrels and countless unusual and rare birds. Finland boasts one of the cleanest environments in the world and although the fifth largest European country in terms of size it has a population of only 5 million. Traffic jams and queues do not exist here, and Finns are one of the most law-abiding and honest peoples on the planet. The so-called everyman's right entitles you to enjoy almost complete access to the natural environment. This is a place where you can explore and relax in the true meaning of the words. A prime example of this is the Päijänne National Park with its pristine environment. People who know little about Finland tend to think that it is a cold and unwelcoming place. These people will probably never know that actually the summers here are often warmer than in Central Europe together with the fact that during June and July the days are very long.
