Description of objectThe enchanting property Il Molino is an old Water Mill which was built at the end of the 17th century. The Mill is situated amongst the popular and wonderful Francigena Path built by the Ancient Romans during 800 AC, for the purpose of connecting North Europe from France to Rome (hence the name) Francigena Way. Nowadays this delightful touristic route goes through picturesque towns and small villages of rare beauty and particular architecture such as Filattiera, Villafranca, Terrarossa, Pontremoli and continues on in various directions till it finally surpasses the Alps and arrives in the Garfagnana region, deep inside the splendid Lunigiana region,‘Il Molino’ is only 25km from the coast Portovenere, le cinque terre, Lerici, La Spezia, where it is possible to travel from La Spezia via sea using regular excursion boats to Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure or closer places like Palmaria Island. Florence, Lucca, Parma, Pisa and Siena are less than an hour’s drive away, the same for Cerreto Lake where is possible to go skiing during the winter. The whole of the property has been peculiarly renovated including all structural parts. Furthermore, the structure has been built to protect against damage caused by earthquakes, ecc. The pillars have been built with reinforced concrete, immovable from the ground. The roof has been completely reconstructed with visible wooden beams, and the front walls have been repainted leaving bare stone in some parts. In total ‘Il Molino’ contains 5 cosy and colourful apartments with 200mq garden shared among the apartments. Outside in the garden there s a peculiar shaped pool filled with natural water from the river just beside the wheels of the watermill. Underneath the pool there’s the control room of the ex watermill (at a moment a plan for building a sauna and Jacuzzi is being finalized). Underneath the ground is enriched by the crystal clear water of the river Bagnone, which is accessible giving a vast area for you to enjoy. Access to the property is through a comfortable path directly from the main square where there are bars, a bank, a general store and a Restaurant. Also a few meters up on the main street there are a few food stores where you can find the traditional products of the area. Il Molino has been named “The Watermill of the lost time”, this is because the feeling that time has been stopped and fused with the past and that of the future giving you the impression that time has been crystallized forever, it’s a strange sensation, but this is the magic of Lunigiana where everything is possible. The apartments vary in size, from 60mq to 110mq. The Flats) are accurately furnished and embellished with antique fittings and everything that is needed in order to move in straight away.
