Villammare is a small coastal town by the Gulf of Policastro in the southern Cilento National park. Sandy beaches nearby, an enchanting hinterland and lots of cultural sights invite you to combine a beach-, nature- and cultural vacation. A day trip to the bordering region of Basilicata with the charming town Maratea, with a lively old town in summer, is recommendable. But the Cilento itself with its archaeological sites Paestum and Velia, and the Carthusian monastery “Certosa di Padula“ is worth a visit, too.
