Location of objectPunta del Hidalgo is located northwest of Anaga, being settled mostly on a coastal platform created about one hundred thousand years ago by the eruption of the volcano known as El Morro or Las Rozas.
It is located about 16 kilometers from the city center and an average elevation of 62 meters above sea level, the highest point being located on the hill known as Roque del Moquinal to 796 m.
It occupies a total area of 7.98 km² which includes not only the urban core, but also a vast natural area included in the protected space Anaga Rural Park.
The town has a parish church dedicated to St. Matthew the Apostle -built with stones taken from Jardina and Bajamar and noted for its red-color, two chapels, several public squares and playgrounds, a medical office, a Red Cross a citizen center, a pharmacy, a bank, a post office, park, cemetery San Gregorio, sports facilities and a wide variety of bars and restaurants. It also has a small fishing port with its fishermen\'s association with a camping area, several viewpoints and a modern lighthouse.
