Description of object2 Bedroom Apartment in Olhão’s renowned Old Town, just two minutes walk from the waterfront.
The apartment is on the second floor of a small 3-storied block on a pedestrian-only street. The block is quite old, so there is no lift. It contains two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living plus dining room with small balcony, a kitchen leading to a utility room. One bedroom has a double bed and single bed, the other has a double bed. Satellite TV, DVD player and a CD-HiFi are included. The kitchen is fully fitted with a fridge freezer, gas hob/electric oven, microwave, coffeemaker and electric kettle. Up one flight of stairs, is the large communal roof terrace with superb views. An excellent supermarket is just one minute\\\'s walk from the apartment.

Town: Portugal, Olhao, OlhaoOnly 12 minutes drive east of Faro Airport, Olhão (pronounced \\\'ul-yow\\\') is a traditional fishing port, and the third largest town in the Algarve. The Insight Pocket Guide to the Algarve describes Olhão as “one of the most underrated places in the Algarve”. Things however, have changed with the building of a new shopping centre on the main road and a 5 star hotel on the seafront, with a new marina to be built in the next year or so.
The narrow cobbled streets of the Old Town wind down to the elegant palm lined waterfront gardens. Its Esplanade features two iconic Market buildings and scores of cafe bars and superb restaurants. Indeed, Olhão is known as the seafood capital of the Algarve. So far, the town has escaped the scourge of the noisy late night discos and sports bars that populate the western Algarve - instead, it offers an unruffled, relaxing and stress-free ambiance. Regular ferries and water taxis link the waterfront to the idyllic, uncrowded beaches of Armona, Culatra and Farol on the surrounding sandbanks known as \\\'The Ilhas\\\'. The nearby Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is a protected area with a fascinating variety of flora and fauna. It is also a breeding ground for the web-footed Algarve \\\'Water Dog\\\', a species unique to the region! No less than four golf courses are within a short drive. Olhão also offers a wide range of holiday activities including boat trips (cruise, kayak and diving), an indoor municipal swimming pool, go kart racing and bicycle hire. Due to its prime location and close proximity to Faro, it is also an ideal BASE for touring and exploring the entire Algarve, and is a shopping mecca in its own right!
