Description of objectBeautifully situated 4 star luxurious and spacious holiday apartment (gite) for 2 people in a rural hamlet. 5km from the medieval village of Lautrec, a “plus beau village de France”, with shops, restaurants and bars. Close by is horse riding, swimming, cycling and walking trails, golf and nature reserves.The spacious gite has an ensuite bedroom (king size bed) with open plan kitchen/dining/living space and a further room for reading and wifi connection. Access to the gite is via electric gates. There is ample off-road parking. The private garden is 7000 sqm with open views towards Lautrec. There are terrace and bbq areas. Facilities include Satellite TV (English and French),CD,DVD and FREE WiFi. Luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen and robes are provided. Bicycles are available. Location of objectThe beautiful Tarn region is an ideal place to relax and unwind; said to be a \\\'little Tuscany\\\' in France. There are numerous outdoor activities for you to choose from, such as horse-riding, golf, swimming, sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, off-road buggies, walking, cycling and nature trails, a bird sanctuary and many more.Castres (10 kms) is a beautiful town built on the banks of the River Agout and is just a ten minute drive. It has a return boat trip from the centre to Parc Gourjade, where you can spend the day playing golf and park games or visit the large indoor and outdoor swimming pools and ice skating at L\\\'Archipel. Or simply take a picnic. For art lovers, Castres has one of the largest Hispanic collections in France, at the Goya Museum in the Town Centre. Albi (30 kms) is the capital of the Tarn region (UNESCO World Heritage site) and the birthplace of the artist Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. Here you will find the Toulouse-Lautrec museum displaying many of his most famous works. Albi also has the largest red brick Cathedral in Europe, the Cathédrale Ste-Cécile, which dates back to the 13th century. A must-see! Gaillac (45 kms) is the home of the local wine. In the month of August you can blend music with wine tasting at Gaillac\\\'s music festivals. If its golf you love, visit nearby Florentin, which has an 18 hole golf course in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards. If its a relaxing beach you are looking for, about 45 mins drive is lac de St Ferréol. For the more energetic it also offers a range of sporting activities. Or visit the Lac des Montagnes - again just 45 mins drive. Or why not visit the historic village of Cordes sur Ciel, dating back to the 15th.C and is “one of the major Cathar centres”. A popular tourist destination for a day out and about an hour drive. A lovely day out just over an hour\\\'s drive is the 6th century, fortified La Cité in Carcassone, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Its simply magical and steeped in Cathar history. It was the inspiration for Walt Disney\\\'s \\\'Sleeping Beauty\\\', and provided the perfect place for the back-drop for the filming of \\\'Robin Hood and the Prince of Thieves\\\'. If you want more cultural sites, travel to Toulouse (by train or car, about an hour). Toulouse is known as the Pink City and has museums, historical buildings, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. It is the home of aviation in France and houses the Space Centre, \\\'Space Experience\\\', a large and interactive tourist attraction, and \\\'Airbus\\\', home of aviation industry in France who offer daily tours. The above are just a few places to visit. There are many more activities \\\'on the doorstep\\\'. The location is an away from it all, quiet rural setting, yet only 5 minutes drive to restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and banks.
