Location of objectNear Nea Marki, about 12km distance is the Marathon Tomb, which took place the historical battle in 490 B.C. between the Greeks and the Persians
You can also see the starting line of the Athens Classical Marathon, the famous road race (31 km – the toughest uphill climb of any major marathon) based on the myth that Pheidippides, a messenger, ran from the Battle of Marathon to Athens to announce the Greeks' victory over the Persians.
