You can go out very safely and be back with the subway, it's easy and safe. (I'm a young Lady and I do it). Very nice restaurant close by on place de la République (2 minutes by foot) "Les amourettes" with a peaceful hidden terrace very good french food “L'Atelier" a romantic italian restaurant with nice decoration and good food too. 2 charming weekly markets, 50 meters from the flat on the place de la République, and a supermarket next door.
