Description of objectSola nel Sole, an old oil mill and rural house is a building of 1700, submerged in a typical orange grove of Sorrento coast overlooking the Gulf of Neaples. Its charm of solid residence has been unchanged preserved, for the masterly architectural restoration of the building materials, of the plants and of the original spaces.
The places of the oil mill and of the old house delineate a complex and mysterious space, where, in the architectures disseminated of stairs, arches and vaults, the past lasts its traces alive.
Sola nel Sole has houses of different squarings surrounded by the green of the gardens, view of the sea or of the mountains. The houses which have two to six bed places, are equipped with kitchen or kitchenette, bathrooms with their autonomous heating plant.
Each house has the name of the Nymph, divinity of the nature of the ancient Greek world: Anfitrite, Aretusa, Euridice, Psamate, Leucotea, Galatea, Tetide, Evarne, Glauce, Cimodoce, and each one exhibits the work art her dedicated.
From the small terraces, windows and balconies there open striking views of the surrounding green, of the mountain which dominates the landscape and of the sea the horizon.
Location of objectThe garden of more 3.500 mq is a luxuriant orchard with prevalence of rows of oranges, tangerines and lemons; olive, nuts, cherry trees and a vine plantation complete the variety. Some areas are cultivated with vegetables, with aromatic plants and some with spices. Flowers of different kinds paint the walk courses, the small paths and the linking stairs among various areas of the garden. There are places of rest for reading and relaxing, relieved by the freshness and the sound of the fountain’s water and a Thetre Space, equipped with a cavea and a skené for the performance of the Events.
