A german painter and former art teacher offers holidays in her beautiful home “Villa del Arte” together with a lot of extra care. Living at the Villa del Arte: The island-style villa is located in a cypress-lined hillside, high above the sea and offers from all rooms and terraces, stunning panoramic views over the sea, to the island of Kalamos and the Acarnanian mountains. It stands on a 4,000 sqm plot in a quiet location above the village of Lygia. The comfortable house, tastefully decorated with antiques and art objects, has a bright, comfortable apartment with panoramic sea views. Flat 95 sqm: It has an open plan living/dining/ kitchen area equipped with a fireplace, library, air conditioning, satellite TV, DVD, stereo, free WiFi-internet connection and two comfortable sofa beds. From all rooms you can walk onto the large covered balcony and enjoy the great view at the sea just 300 meters away. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and there is a second bathroom for more guests. Location of objectLygia (also known as Ligia) is a charming fishing village situated on the East coast of Lefkas (Lefkada), only about five kilometres south of Lefkas Town. Life here is slow and stress-free. The centre point of the village is it's little harbour where much of the Island's fresh fish arrives every day.Lygia village consists of one main street with a few tavernas, cafes and bars. A couple of minimarkets, a bakery and two petrol stations add to the selection of places in which to spend your money. This is a very relaxing place to stay. The food is good - you can sit for hours at one of the harbour front tavernas eating a plate of Gavros (small fried fish) with a Greek salad, a basket of fresh crusty Greek bread and a wonderful wine, enjoying the breeze off the sea and the views across to the Castle of Saint George on the mainland. Hikers will enjoy walking in the mountains. A wonderful time for walks is during February and March when the vegetation is in its first bloom and the almond trees unfold their delicate pink flower dress. In Spring, from March to May whole hillsides are dotted with flowering Judas trees and countless species of orchids. But also the time of the olive harvest, from October to January, when lemon, orange and tangerine trees carry their heavy fruit, has its own charm. Entertainment and activities: Hiking, herbal walks, Yoga, Gymnastics, language courses, painting courses (watercolor, drawing, acrylic), and excursions to the cultural treasures of the region can offer a lot of variety (for example Arta, the city's many Byzantine churches and monasteries, the oldest from the 9th cent. with magnificent frescoes is only 60 km away). On a rainy day you may visit the small town of Lefkas, and enjoy entertainment in the many small cafes, Useries, restaurants, shops, museums and exhibitions. Often the rain disappears as quick as it comes and you may take a stroll through the picturesque lanes of the city.
