Location of objectThe apartment is located on the second (top) floor and is part of a small group of 8 apartments (in three different buildings.)
Situated in the centre of the triangle between Île Rousse -Saint Florent -Ponte Leccia, Lama is a great base for exploring the northern part of Corsica. The superbe beach of Ostriconi is only 15 minutes from the apartment, swimming in the Asco valley (20 minutes away), the famous Désert des Agriates (only 20 minutes away). Easily accessible due to good road links:Corte and the Restonica Gorges, the Scala di Regina gorge and the Col de Vergio, Castagniccia, Bastia, the Cap Corse. Nearby: Ponte Leccia railway station (15 minutes) for excursions by train to Ajaccio, Calvi and Bastia. Airports: Bastia 50 minutes, Calvi 60 minutes, Ajaccio 2 hours.
Shops: Bakers (Pietralba et Urtaca) à 7 min, supermarket, chemists et other shops and servcies at Ponte Leccia (15 min). Ile Rousse 30 km away.
Town: France, La Balagne, LamaPerched on the side of the mountain, beneath Monte Astu, Lama is a very beautiful village that has retained its authenticity exceptionally well. The village dates back to the 13th century with its ancient houses, vaulted passageways and alleys, the church of San Lorenzo and its olive oil presses. Around the village there are old mule tracks that are really popular with hikers, including some signposted circuits and the path that goes up to the village 'refuge' and Monte Astu.
Discover Corsican cuisine by trying all the local specialities: charcuterie, meat, cheeses, chestnuts, soups, sea food, wines and olive oil. There are several restaurants in the village and surrounding area.
