Description of objectSmall, quiet one bedroom apartment with a view of the Arm at the back of a private family home. Across the road from the Armdale Yacht Club. Laminate floors, double bed, single sofa bed and double sofa bed for extra guests, TV, wireless internet, dishes, linen, spices, propane bar-b-q, etc. Playset in the backyard for visiting children. Non-smoking property. This is an apartment ajoined to a quiet private family residence. One km from the Armdale Rotary, 2 kms from Halifax Shopping Centre, 6 kms to downtown Halifax, 7 kms to Bayers Lake, 5 kms to Dalhousie Univeristy and 5.5kms to Saint Mary's University. $525 per week, minimum 3 nights stay for $255 (no tax is charged).Location of objectWith a view of the Armdale Yacht Club across the street, visitors will find several walking trails and parks by walking from the front door.Attractions within 2kms The Anchor On the corner of Anchor & Spinnaker Drives The Halifax Explosion occurred on December 6, 1917 when the SS Mont-Blanc, which was fully loaded with explosives accidentally collided with the SS Imo in the Halifax Harbour. A portion of the Mont Blanc's anchor shaft weighing 517 kegs (1,140 lbs) was thrown 3.78 kms (2.3 mi) to land near this area. Regatta Point Walkway A nice walk along the waterfront. Walk down the hill to find the sign and entrance next to the Greek church. Deadman's Island The island was used by the British military during the Napoleonic Wars and the War of 1812. French, Spanish and American soldiers died at the facility on nearby Melville Island and were buried in unmarked graves on this island. A plaque has been erected to commemorate the significance of the island. Walk up the hill to Pinehaven Drive. As you walk down Pinehaven, you will find a trail entrance on your left. Follow this trail to Deadman's Island. Sir Sanford Fleming Park and the Dingle Tower The park was donated to Halifax in 1908 by Sir Sandford Fleming, the creator of Standard Time Zones. The Dingle tower was dedicated in 1912 to commemorate 150 years of representative government. Walk or drive up the hill to Fleming Drive (the second road on your left), then veer left and take the Dingle Road down to the park.
