Description of objectMillcourt is a recently modernised 1-bedroom apartment within an historic mill building on the banks of the Allan Water in the city of Dunblane near Stirling. Ideally located in Central Scotland at the Gateway to the Trossachs National Park and all it has to offer in terms of hill walking; walking; cycling, mountain-biking, birdwatching, golf etc. Dunblane benefits from excellent motorway and rail links making it an ideal touring base for Edinburgh and Glasgow (both 40 mins away by car) and Perth to the north (20 mins), not to mention the historic city of Stirling on the doorstep with its castle and famous Wallace Monument.
The apartment is fully furnished to a high standard with LCD TV and DVD, washer, stereo, microwave, iron and board, good quality crockery, cutlery and glassware. The apartment benefits also from a swimming pool located on the ground floor, which guests are welcome to use free-of-charge between 7am-10pm
Location of objectWe are ‘at the heart of golf in Scotland’ with 50 courses being within 50 minutes drive of the apartment. Stirling and Falkirk area is a distinctive golfing region in itself and offers a superb variety of venues. The best course in the area is Glenbervie, where several amateur championships are held. Of course other very famous courses – notably Gleneagles and St. Andrews, are 20 minutes and 50 minutes away by road respectively.
Town: Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Central - Near Stirling, DunblaneThe town offers an excellent choice of places to dine. The narrow winding streets offer a charming array of shops, which include superb craft shops and a traditional goldsmith. The architecture of the old town of Dunblane is truly magnificent, especially around the cathedral, where there are delightful 18th century houses. Open to visitors is the Dean's House of 1624 which contains the Cathedral Museum, with its fascinating exhibits while the Leighton Library (1681) contains over four thousand rare books. The historic district of Ramoyle remains largely unaltered, the exception being that the roofs of the whitewashed weaver's cottages are now slated, not thatched.
Above Dunblane the site of the Dun can still be seen on the wooded hill where St. Blane lived 1400 years ago and founded this wonderful city. Add to this attractive riverside walks, parks, interesting shops, rich surrounding countryside on the edge of the Highlands, friendly local folk and a warm welcome at any of the local hostelries and it is not hard to see why Dunblane and Sheriffmuir are popular with visitors.
