Earthstead is an ecologically sustainable project of luxury villas and studios for holiday makers, travellers or romantic weekends away.

Our handbuilt Earthhouse (completed Autumn 2010) is completely self-contained and fully furnished with handcrafted furniture, luxurious linens, private patio and the finest amenities including a wood burning fire, solar heated tile floors and more than the comforts of home.

The adobe brick Earthouse is a travellers dream, handbuilt using ecological principles, natural materials and implements solar hot water, passive solar gain and is super insulated to be as earth friendly as possible.

Earthstead Villas is situated just 4km from Cambridge in the beautiful Waikato region, 140km south of Auckland, just off SH1, the main highway through NZ.

Earthstead is an ideal base location in the central North Island, as it is within an hour to the east and west coasts, aswell as popular tourist spots; Rotorua, Taupo and Waitomo Caves.

From Hamilton:
* Take SH 1 10.5km south from Hamilton
* Stay left on Cambridge Road (it will turn into Hamilton Road)
* Turn right at Victoria Street
* At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Pope TCE
* Continue onto Cambridge Road, 3635 Cambridge Road will be on your right-hand side

Historic Cambridge is a welcoming and timeless town of 16,000 people, in the heart of New Zealand. With stunning tree lined avenues this English-style town is home to charming boutiques, antique shops, walking trails and natural beauty. Best known for its champion horse breeding, Cambridge is the breeding home to 13 of the Melbourne Cup winners. Short drives to the city of Hamilton, the Maungatautari bird sanctuary and Lake Karapiro, Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, Mount Maunganui, Auckland, Lake Taupo, and Hobbiton make for wonderful day trips from Cambridge.
