Brufut is a fishing village approximately 8 kms from the tourist area of Kololi. It has its own local markets and shops, with a wonderful beach which is at leats 2km long, very peaceful with the occassional local beach bar along the shoreline. The nearby Sheriton Hotel also has a more cosmapolitan beach bar open to all.
The nearby fishing village of Ghana Town also has shops with basic provisions, many churches and a mosque.
