| Calis is a small area about 1 KM from Fethiye. Built along the beach, it is still predominately Turkish, though many Europeans live there. It is not a resort town, but becomes lively during the summer with a beautiful promenade. The harbour at Fethiye is lovely and colourful. The turkish markets in both Fethiye and Calis are not to be missed. In Fethiye are beautiful tombs of the Lycians and all around the area are sites or historical interest. The area is surrounded by mountains. This ensures a lovely sea breeze filters through cooling the hot summer days - an unusual advantage in Turkey |
