In less than 1.5 km there is the theme park Plopsaland two supermarkets, several restaurants, bakeries, bus, tram and train. Duinendaele lies approximately 2-3 miles from the beach. De Panne is a vibrant city with various activities throughout the year. By bicycle it's fun to explore the area and one is near the French border. Just outside the complex there is a natural area with various hiking trails. Historic towns in the area are Furnes 5km, 25km Diksmuide, Leper and Brugge around 30km 50km.
