The Kobarid area
Kobarid is a historic village, which has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Today Kobarid is a pleasant and thriving village, dwarfed by towering mountains, offering many points of interest and is an ideal base for a range of outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing.
Kobarid is on the fringe of the Triglav National Park and marked trails lead from Kobarid to the mountain tops of Stol and Krn, and guide walkers along the Kobarid historical trail and the Soca gorge. The historical trail is 5km long and takes three to five hours.
Why not spend a day kayaking or rafting on the Soca river, relax with fly fishing or try an exciting paragliding trip! Mountain biking and much more can be done from Kobarid. The Soca is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful waterways in Europe.
