| Satu Mare is a historic market town, 10km from the boarder with Hungary. To the east lie the Carpathians mountains with many ski resorts, and outdoor activities, including mountain biking, 4x4 off roading, hiking, and rock climbing. Throughout the year Satu Mare hosts many events including fairs festivals and exhibitions. Satu Mare has museums, including historic sites, interesting architectural buildings, close by are a number of thermal water parks with health improvement properties, as well as an ever growing number of bars and restaurants. Satu Mare is connected by both railway and airport, with daily flighs and trains to the Romanian capital Bucharest. |
