| Tihany is the only peninsula of Lake Balaton. Its landscape has been shaped by volcanic forces. Remains of craters formed Lake Inner and Lake Outer, both above the level of Lake Balaton itself. The highest point of the peninsula is Csúcs hill which is the residue of geyser rushed up from basalt tuff. Lóczy educational path leads the visitors around the peninsula, nice, pleasant promenade with route signs guiding tourists to the sights of Tihany. |
