Description of objectIf what your looking for is a true Authentic medi-eval French cottage experience, you need look no further.With an eye for detail, the owners have ensured they have retained the soul and feeling of an old French house. Situated at the end of a private lane in one of the oldest parts of Vailhan, the three storey cottage enjoys spectacular views across the valley and mountains. On entering the cottage a spacious kitchen wraps around you. The fully equipped kitchen comfortably seats six around a large round dining table which leads directly into an atmospheric living room and also onto a huge terrace which lends itself perfectly to alfresco dining and lounging. From the living room French doors open directly onto a small shady balcony which takes in views across the historic village of Vailhan. At the same time stairs lead down to an eleventh century huge stone master bedroom with stone vaulted ceiling, ensuite bathroom and large bath. Each of the three spacious bedrooms have their own quality high end stone ensuite bathroom. Note, the bath tub in the master bedroom is out of order and can not be used. In the summer there is a mobile van lakeside selling coffee and refreshing drinks where one can enjoy the periodic intimate music evening concerts. A tennis court is situated in a stunning mountain setting, close to the church to be used free at any time. Rental deposit of 50 % must be paid at time of booking and non refundable. Final payment must be paid no later than 6 weeks before arrival as well as the deposit of 1000¤. The rent is all inclusive and is self catering. Meaning that all additional costs such as electricity , hot water, bed linen, towels, telephone, includung international calls and internet connection are included in the price. However if something is damaged the cost of repair or replacement will be deducted from the deposit. Please note, if the tenants are checking out without cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the dishes, the ovens, cleaning and emptying the fridge as well as taking the rubbish and recycling to the bins an extra 50¤ cleaning fee will be charged and deducted from the deposit. Location of objectThe small neighbouring village of Montesque is famous for their goats and goat cheese. Around 16.30 -17.00 every day the goats head home to the stable where you can enjoy a cuddle with them and buy freshly produced organic unpasturised cheeses.Roujan is a larger village with all the amentities including a large super market, restaurants, cafes, bakery, banks, post, Doctors and pharmacy and seven minutes by car. Fifteen minutes drive away is the beautiful town of Pezenas, with it\\\'s weekly year round Saturday morning market and Friday night festivals in July and August. The Saturday morning market in the gorgeous main boulevard bosts an impressive range of local wine and produce. It has become a favorite destination for locals for miles around who frequent the weekly event. The Friday night market, also hugely popular draws crouds from afar with its vast wine tasting and music entertainment where shops, restaurants and cafes remain open in the medi - eval center until midnight. The wonderful beaches of Agde are only 35 minutes away. About 40 minutes to Beziers Cap d´Agde Airport , about 1 hour to the historic city of Montpellier and Montpellier Mediteranee airport. Vailhan is surrouded by quant historic circulade villages and not so far away is the Canal du Midi where you enjoy a boat trip along the canal. The amazing medi-eval town Carcasonne with its impressive fortress is about 1-1,5 hours away by car. Check out their medi-eval festivals in the summer. Languedoc where Vailhan is situated is the biggest vine producing area in France- Europe. One is spoiled for choice with an abundance of wine tasting possibilites, many of which selling wine directly from their Chateau. Town: France, Close to Pezenas, VailhanVailhan is a quant village with a hamlet feeling, perfectly positioned on the edge of a stunning national park and a comfortable thirty five minute drive from the Mediterranean.Right at your door step one is spoiled for choice with endless walking tracks through the surrounding hills and plateau directly above the village. For those less interested in donning walking boots and doing the packed lunch thing, two minutes from the property is a lovely mountain view evening stroll following the picturesque lanes which meanders around the manicured vegetable gardens. However if you like to relax in a low micro wave radiation area away from stress, this a good place. |
