Description of objectApartment with private garden and terrace - unique and very spacious patio with great views! The apartment is located in the historic part of Terracina and includes 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower and tub. The kitchen is separated from the apartment, but built indoors on the terrace/garden area. Washing machine.
Location of objectThe heart of the historic part of town is in the Piazza del Municipio – the famous town square with its Roman paving stones. You may sit down here, at one of the cafès while drinking your ‘Cappuccino’ in the morning and visualize the Roman warriors once passing through exactly on this spot. More than 2000 years ago..!
But Terracina has lots of history, and many, many churches. The Cathedral in the piazza is the most important, but there’s also a rather peculiar church located in the main street, Via Anita Garibaldi, called the Purgatorio Church. The church is decorated with macabre figures and skeletons on the outside and there are several skulls to gaze inside. These awesome images are in contrast to all the painted portraits of Madonna, on the walls all around.
There are several nice restaurants to choose from, offering delicious food and lovely wine. Nice evenings outdoors in the old town is a priceless experience!
From the piazza it’s only a two minutes walk before you reach the busier downtown, with shops of all kinds. Terracina is situated on the coast and has two beautiful and sandy beaches. Along the 5 km long promenade people like to take their daily walk - morning, noon or night. Right above the town, on the mountain Monte S. Angelo there’s an ancient temple, the temple of Giove Anxur. From the piazza in the historic part of town you can easily walk up in thirty minutes, but put on your sneakers. At the top you have the whole city beneath you, as well as the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Promontorio of San Felice Circeo - a spectacular view!
