Description of objectCasa Ava has three floors. The ground floor has a large cool hallway with stairs up and a downstairs cloakroom off. High ceilings, tiled floors, shuttered windows, and clever traditional design make this a comfortable house in the hot summer heat. In the winter the newly installed central heating and wood burning fireplace ensure an all year round comfortable experience. The hallway leads to a fully fitted modern kitchen next to a spacious dining room, with patio doors out to the pool area. There is a big comfortable sitting room with two large squashy sofas, tv and sound system, and a glorious open fireplace for those winter evenings. Of course there is also the central heating should you need it. The house can sleep 12 people. The upper floors have five bedrooms, three have ensuite bathrooms, making four bathrooms in total Outside at the front of Casa Ava there is a vine covered patio for relaxing in the shade, and on one side an open patio and poolside furniture for any sun-worshipers,and a whopping 50 square metre pool. The pool is heated in cooler weather, and supplied by spring-water from natural sources in the grounds. It is 2.2m deep at the deepest end and 1m deep at the shallow end with steps down. A safety fence surrounds the pool area for extra peace of mind when young children are at home. Location of objectCasa Ava is near the ancient hilltop town of Iznajar which is about 50 minutes drive north from Malaga on very good roads. Flights to Malaga are numerous and frequent and cheap! Recently some airlines are promoting even cheaper fares to Granada airport, which is the same distance from Casa Ava. You will need to arrange a hire car. From Malaga Airport take the N340(A7) towards Malaga From Granada and Sevilla follow the A92 motorway and leave at the Junction for the A333 (Villanueva de Tapia, and Iznajar) And Then: Remain on the A333, passing Villanueva de Tapia to your right, and continue following signs towards Iznajar. Your first views of Iznajar and the lake will take your breath away. Go across the spectacular bridge over the lake and on past Iznajar for a few minutes along the northern shore towards Rute. Look out for the hamlet of La Hoz which is on your right about a mile before Rute. Turn right onto the old Rute road, signed La Hoz, continue a few hundred meters over a small rise and the house ahead is Casa Ava. Casa Ava is situated in a valley just off this old road to Rute, where the old road crosses a bridge over our brook. This road is now only used by local traffic to the hamlet, so it is very quiet. Town: Spain, Subbetica, IznajarCasa Ava is situated just inside the southern boundaries of the 'Parque naturel de la Sierra Subbetica'. It lies off a small country road between Iznajar and Rute on the shores of a large man made lake the Embalse de Iznajar.Iznajar is a beautiful hilltop town, overlooking a magnificent lake. The lake is not unlike a Scottish loch, particularly in the early morning mist, although this one is surrounded by hills clad with olive groves. There is a beach where you can swim and sail, and good fishing in the waters. The highlight of the Iznajar calendar is La Feria Real (7th-11th September) in honour of the patron saint La Virgen de la Piedad. It involves a candlelight procession through the town on the 8th.
