Description of objectThe holiday house is part of an old farm which is located on a hill overlooking the hilly landscape of the southern Piedmont, the plain of the Po river, and the high mountains which separate Italy from France and Switzerland. We rent three holiday houses and we also live here in one of the old renovated buildings.There are two hectares of land around the houses. One part consists of a hazelnut plantation with ca. 130 hazelnut trees, an ideal place to lie in a hammock enjoying the shadow in high summer. In the other part of the garden you find many cosy places under the trees with chairs and tables, a boule track, a playground to play badminton and volleyball, a Ping-Pong table, and a fireplace. The upper floor of the holiday house was the living place of farm workers and the lower floor was a chicken stable. We have renovated the house in 2003, taking care to keep as many of the old structures as possible. The upper floor consists of a single kitchen/living room and above the kitchen part there is a gallery with a double bed. This part is not very high but very cosy and it is especially loved by youngsters and children. In front of the living room part there is a balcony. On the same floor there is a bathroom with WC, lavabo and a shower. An outside staircase leads to the lower floor with a large bedroom and a bathroom. The double bed is 1.6m x 2m. In front of the bedroom and next to the kitchen are two sitting places with a table and benches. It is green all around, some part of the land around the houses is left rather wild and other parts are cultivated, there is a vegetable garden and numerous trees which offer shadow during the hot summer. No large street is close by, thus it is very quiet and safe to play for the children. There is central heating in all rooms. In addition, in the kitchen/living room and in the bedroom you can also heat with wood-burning stoves. In the neighbouring farmhouse you can rent an additional room with a bathroom. There is a spacy parking lot next to the garden. The closest village where you can find several exquisite restaurants, a grocery store, a butcher, a pharmacy and three bars is Murazzano, only 3.5 km south of here. Location of objectLovera is a little village consisting of only a few houses and a church. Driving along the hilltop you reach after only 3 km the larger picturesque village Murazzano with its stores, bars and very good restaurants.We provide with no extra costs two bicycles and all the equipment to play volleyball, badminton, boule, and Ping-Pong. Town: Italy, Alta Langhe, BonvicinoThe Piedmont is well known for its outstanding restaurants, its wines, its culture, and the spectacular landscape.The area is very suitable for hiking and we can provide information to the visitors about hiking trails in this region. In 1.5 hours you can reach the alpine valleys with mountains ranging up to 3800m and several passes that lead over to southern France. Biking is also very popular here, the streets are in good conditions and many of them follow the hilltops from where you can enjoy magnificent views. Good eating and drinking is an important part of life in the Piedmont. We can recommend many excellent restaurants in the villages around Lovera. A 40 minute drive leads you to the village Barolo, the centre of an extended wine region. This is a particularly beautiful landscape with many colourful villages from where you have extended views over the hills. Uncountable wine cellars offer their famous wines. In an hour drive you can reach Torino in the North, a city well known as the hometown of the FIAT factories but which has much more to offer. It is now considered one of the leading European centres for modern painting. Besides, there is the largest daily open market of Italy and many historical buildings to visit. After the foundation of the state Italy it was the capital for a short time period. The Liguria coast can be reached within one hour on the freeway. However, we recommend a trip to the Mediterranean on small streets across the mountains and we can inform you about the nicest villages and hiking trips along the ocean. Moreover, we recommend a visit to Genova, a very interesting and very Italian city. For the guests who are interested in architecture, art, and history we can recommend many places very worthwhile to visit. There are several beautiful little cities like Saluzzo, Alba, Mondovi, Savigliano, Cherasco, and Cuneo not far away from here.
