Description of objectIl Nido nelle Crete is a lovely little apartment in the ancient fortified village of Serre di Rapolano in the Crete Senesi area of Tuscany. It enjoys an excellent lighting and a superb panoramic view. You can enjoy the fantastic view over the hills of the Crete Senesi (north-east) and also on the ancient fortress of Serre, now the Museum of the Grancia (north-west). The apartment is located in an old stone villa belonging to the circle of the walls of the village of Serre di Rapolano and consists of 4 rooms: a bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom, for a total of 50 meters square. The cottage has a sleeping capacity of four people, two in the master bedroom, and 2 in two single sofa beds located in the living room. The entrance is in the living room characterized by the fireplace, the sofa beds, and a TV/stereo area. The living room leads to the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom. The kitchen has a 4 seat table, it is extendable, and the cooking area is equipped with 4 burner stove with a fan. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for cooking, the electric oven, a microwave, the fridge with a freezer. The kitchen is very bright thanks to the window from which you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Crete Senesi. The bedroom is a very large room, very bright for the two windows from which you can enjoy the views of the Crete Senesi and of the village of Serre. The bath is small but with everything you need and with a breathtaking views of the Crete Senesi. You get with the car at a distance of about 10 meters from the cottage, it is very easy to pack and unpack your car. The car can then be parked at a very short distance down the road, or in the two car parking areas just below the cottage.

Throughout the area you can make excursions on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. The network of hiking trails is very well maintained and developed. The village of Serre is on the top of a hill, laying behind the valley of the Sentino river and the valley of the Ombrone river. The village of Serre grew around its fortress, a medieval castrum built during the greek-gothic war (535-553). The castle, together with other works of military engineering, controlled the access to the village and valleys. This gave the village its name: \\\'serrare\\\' in italian, means \\\'to close\\\'. Serre was used to controll the access to the area.
The village of Serre di Rapolano is situated in the Crete Senesi, near the Ombrone valley and lies between the hills of Chianti (north) and the Val di Chiana and Val d\\\'Orcia (south). It has an important function as tourist crossroads as few kilometers separate Serre from Siena, Arezzo, Pienza and Montepulciano, famous localities rich in art and history. The hydro-thermal Spa of Rapolano Terme are few minutes far from Serre and those of Chianciano Terme are easy to reach.
